Mrs. Banita Williams Patrick affectionately known as "Pumpkin" of 1409 Cromartie Beach Road, Albany, Georgia died Sunday, May 10, 2009 at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 11:00 a. m. in the sanctuary of the Beulah Baptist Church, 802 South Jefferson Street, Albany, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery, 120 Pretoria Road, Albany, Georgia. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2009 from 12:00 Noon until 5:00 p. m. at the Elliott Funeral Home, 512 South Jefferson Street, Albany, Georgia. On Wednesday, July 31, 1974, the union of Waymond and Schenida Murray Williams was wonderfully blessed with the birth of their daughter. Banita Latuji was born in Dougherty County, GA. She was affectionately known to her family and friends as “Pumpkin.” Pumpkin received her education in the public schools of Dougherty County. Early in her life she became a member of the Girl Scout and remained a member on into high school. She was a 1994 graduate of Westover High School. After the completion of high school she continued her education at and graduated from Albany Technical College where she majored in Criminal Justice. She was employed by The Equity Group (Cagles) of Camilla, GA. Banita was baptized at the 1st Bethesda Baptist Church, Albany, GA. She later joined the Greater Friendship Baptist Church, Oakfield, GA. A very active member, she busied herself working with the Dance Ministry and the Youth Department. On Saturday, May 27, 2006, she was joined in holy matrimony to Mr. Kenneth L. Patrick, Sr. Banita loved people, especially children. She was a caregiver; she was everybody’s Momma. As a parent, she maintained an active involvement with the Lamar Reese Elementary School PTO. On Sunday, May 10, 2009, our loving wife and mother, beautiful daughter and sister, and dear niece, cousin and friend transition from life to life eternal at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Albany, GA. Many wonderful memories of her life will forever be cherished by her loving and devoted husband, Mr. Kenneth L. Patrick, Sr.; her precious children, Miss Schenida Williams, Miss Kya K. Williams, and Miss Trinity M. Patrick all of Albany, GA, and Mr. Kenneth L. Patrick, Jr. of Fairbanks, AL; her loving and devoted parents, Mr. Waymond and Mrs. Schenida Murray Williams of Albany, GA; three beloved brothers, Mr. Johnnie B. Murray and his wife, Mrs. Roszita Murray of Albany, GA, Mr. Orion Murray and his wife, Mrs. Deborah Murray of Lady’s Island, SC, and Mr. Timothy R. Williams and his wife, Mrs. Jessie Williams of Albany, GA; her beloved parents-in-law, Ms. Diane Mitchell and Mr. Mitchell Patrick both of Albany, GA; her caring aunts and uncles, Mrs. Selena Stephenson and her husband, Mr. Henry Stephenson, Mrs. Oradean Brown, and Mr. Eddie R. Murray all of Albany, GA, Ms. Edna Marie Murray, Ms. Josephine Clark, Mrs. Marie Baker and her husband, Mr. D. C. Baker, Ms. Ruth Patrick, and Mr. Steven Patrick all of Columbus, GA, Ms. Georgia Stephenson of Jacksonville, FL, Mrs. Shirley Brown and her husband, Mr. George Brown of Cartersville, GA, Mr. Raymond Williams of Unadilla, GA, Mrs. Dorothy Willis and her husband, Mr. Rufus Willis of McDonough, GA, and Ms. Fannie Pearl Russell of Marlboro, SC; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Angela (Steve) Campbell-Dobbins of Columbus, GA; her nieces and nephews; many special cousins, to include, Ms. Constance Lewis, Ms. Georgia Duncan, and Ms. Patrina Edwards, other loved ones and many sorrowing friends.
