Bluetooth speaker for those who like it LOUD

Copenhagen firm Soundboks produces Bluetooth speakers for folk who need a lot of sound in a portable rugged form.

‘Soundboks 2’ is its 66 x 43 x 32cm 15kg unit that includes 216Wrms worth of amplification and will run for eight hours at full volume (40h moderate volume) from its 12.8V 7.8Ah LiFePO4 battery – and batteries are quick-swappable to extend this.

“With a max volume of 122dB, the Soundboks 2 is the loudest battery-powered speaker in the world, and not only that, it sounds supreme,” according to the firm, which has thoughtfully included a volume control knob that goes up to 11…..

Bluetooth is not the only possible source, as it has a 1/4inch jack too.

Should you need to walk down the street playing – or perhaps just lug it from car to venue – there is a handy optional harness to convert it into a backpack.

  1. Hi, Steve. the Soundboks 2 came out on top of my list of the loudest portable speakers available in 2019 and I give a detailed review of the speaker at https://maxyourhometime.com/soundboks-2-review/. It produces an almighty loud sound.

    Regards, Trevor.

I wonder what the real market for this sort of product is? Street musicians? Parties or concerts out in the hinterlands?

    • Hi MrK
The company website has copious application photos – mostly involving the attractive young.
At Electronics Weekly Towers, there is mostly silence*, and nearest we get to music is a moment of transcendency when the phone of esteemed colleague Caroline Hayes rings, providing five seconds from Motorhead’s Ace of Spades.
