So the Logan is a bit too noisy when driving a bit faster.

Did any body do something about aditional sound isolation? A think I saw some pictures some time ago, but it's hard to find them whe I don't understand Romanian.

I really think that the noise is a bit too much when I'm driving above cca 120 km/h.

Opinions? Ideas? Suggestions?

Hello Boris,
You can pay a look at the pictures here, although, I'm not sure how much this will 'fix' your interior noise : http://www.daciaclub.ro/index.php?showtopic=10329

this is also said to reduce some of the high-speed noise.

... in fact, here dsign talks a bit about the noise reduction...

this week I managed to do some minor adjustments concerning the noise reduction. I spent almost 50 euros on some materials and I started working. It took me about 16 hours to do all the job, but in two different days. I didn't have the chance to test if at high speeds there is an improvement, but I can assure you that when deiving in the city the noises and vibrations reduced considerably.

also, I mounted some materials on the ceiling, just for thermo isolation. U can see soame picures HERE and i'll come back to give explanations if U like. Right now I'm in big hurry.

That is some kind of 'ordinary' bitumen foil or something else?

I see you've taken apart the wholke car blink.gif

Have you done something with the doors? That can be a significant source of noise.

Everybody mentiones that exspensive Dynamat foil for the doors and other parts of the car.

it's the same material as dynamat, but it's much cheaper... aluband from den braven

it's very easy to take apart the interior. once you take out the chairs, it's easy....

i didn't have time to do the doors, but I'll do that next week. somebody reccomended me to apply aluband on the exterior panel, also on the interior panle, but to cover the holes too...

The reason whay I asked because some guy wrote that he has put bitumen foil in his Clio doors, and that it has melted in a summer day. He had to take everything out.

The manufacturers of these Aluband and similar products say that it supposed to be stable on higher temperatures.

I understand that in Romania the operation costs up to 100 euros (for the whole floor and doors).
I will do it myself in autumn when I will have some time.
The guys are saying that it pays. The difference is noticeable.

it does not melt. I applied the aluband on the ceiling, at noon, when the roof was so hot that I couldn't get my hand on it.

it stayed 4-5 hours in the sun and did not give any sign of melting.

it costs almost 100 euros for the doors, floor and roof and yes, it is noticeable.

There is a point because when the temperature is hot, especially when there is intense direct sunlight, the roof gets quite hot, and the metal transmitts the temperature inside the car. By insulating the roof, Dsign created a termic barrier which keeps the interiour a bit cooler.

PS: noticeable is the temeperature difference before and after the described operation.

How much are you ready to pay for your isolation? Please tell me which kind of isolation you prefer
Talking about insulation, I'm interested to buy such thing for my Solenza and I'm still waiting for this item to pop up on the market. Since there were 30 months of waiting, I think I'm gonna isolate myself in a place that the riot of the streets will be far and away.

It's called "sound-proofing" or "sound -insulation ".
insulate (COVER)=to cover and surround something with a material or substance in order to stop heat, sound or electricity from escaping or entering:
You can insulate a house against heat loss by having the windows double-glazed
"isolation" has another use.

I called them too. Seller told me also that " this is NOT available as separate part" and that he works with car parts for 25 years and that he never heard that someone is mounting hood isolation on petrol engine. He was quite unpolite.....

I don’t know if it is of some interest, but in Romania that piece is as spare part.
Only that is a little expensive (around 45 euro)
