Hi , I call from Country of Pyramids ;Egypt . Renault company will produce Logan in 2007 in our country. I saw a comment about logan in www.carsurvey.org .(21st Jun 2005, 05:37
I got a Logan myself, the Laureate version (2000 km so far in 6 weeks). My overall impression is quite good, you do get value for money with this one. I still got a number of things to complain about: (1) standard tires (for Romania, I mean, I am talking about Montana, apparently produced under Michelin license) are not the best option, adherence is not their strength. (2) The engine is pretty noisy at 120+ km/h. (3) Engine sounds like a Diesel when the A/C is on. (4) There are two hot-water pipes under the dashboard, right at the top of the right foot, so drivers with big feet should think twice before putting their sandals or beach slippers on... (5) Back seat cannot folded, so you cannot carry anything long, such as a pair of ski runners or a fishing rod or surfboard, etc. But I do like the gear, which works great, and the stability the vehicle at high speeds and in the curves. The trunk is huge. Five people can travel quite comfortably. I had two different types of Dacia's before and Logan is definitely NOT a Dacia. It's a far better car... Chairs are comfortable. I see in the ADAC Automobile club(Germany) that logan fail in car test and flip in 40 M/H and drivers' side A-pillar caved in when the car rolled onto its roof. if this news is right , it seems this car is unsafe in curves. Do you heard about this in Rommania?
Please kindly inform me about some another wrongs in this car especially about its body strength and noise .

The "test" made by ADAC was retired, they pushed the car to the limit and claimed that the Logan is unsafe, wich is untrue. The test was fake.

It's the ac compressor not the engine(and it's not that loud)

big feet? i have 43 cm(10 us feet 9 uk feet) and i can't find the pipes....

Hi
The ADAC pushed the car beyond its limits making the car tip over it was driven like no normal person would drive and they had worn out tyres on it
so dont worry too much about the German test
You CAN drop the backrest of the rear seat it is done from inside the trunk
and you just need to lift up the backrest
Enjoy your car I am enjoying mine

What the Germans did was a way of bad propaganda for Dacia.
It has been proven that Logan does not "just flip" over at 40km/h.
Also like stu said they tested the car with worn out tires.

It is typical of the German Market to try and lower all other standards
Why should Renault not be able to produce a GOOD car with Dacia
VW are allowed to do this with SKODA.they give it all the good points in tests as well
Ah well THEY WONT WIN THE WORLD CUP
