I broke the lead of my winch remote at the Action Trial. I am hoping to have it fixed but in the meantime does any one have a wiring diagram for the plug in the control box. You can get the winch to work by bridging the right pins but which are which?

Thanks,
DaveM

Thanks Derrick - I should learn to read the 'fine' print.

Can not help then, Dave - could have checked a Ramsey control for you.

But the basics should  the same - one pin power, one pin forward and one reverse - bridging forward and reverse will do nothing, bridging power to any of the other two will operate the winch in either direction.

Hi Dave

The common problem is yanking the cable and the connectors come off the back of the switch. It is possible, although difficult to pull the switch surround through the rubber handle and check the wires. If my memory is correct the black has the power and it switches to red or green. I did this and have had no problems since.

The other solution is to take the top plate off the winch, 4 allen key bolts and pull a three strand wire through the power cable opening and run it to a switch on the dash, put a switch in line under the bonnet to prevent accidental activation

Hope it helps
Allan
