Crochet with Aabhar – Zigzag Openwork Crochet Stitch

Zigzag Openwork Crochet Stitch is a simple and easy crochet stitch that creates repeating motifs of treble crochet stitches arranged in a checkered zigzag pattern.

This is a beginner-friendly crochet stitch that only uses two stitches in its construction – the basic chain stitch (ch) and the treble crochet (tr) stitch. It is a one-row repeat pattern that is spread over 10 repeating stitches. These 10 stitches create one motif and the base for the motif in the next row. As the crochet pattern involves working with stitches of more height, it will help in increasing the project length very quickly.

There are several variations to the pattern. You can make groups of 5 treble columns or even 3 columns. The pattern is very simple as it only a single row repeat.

Zigzag Openwork Crochet Stitch is a very lacy and delicate pattern that will look perfect with any yarn, especially the lace weight yarn. Pattern Instructions

Foundation ch: any multiple of 10 + 1, plus 4.

Row 1:	1tr in 5th ch from hook, 1tr in next 4 ch, * sk 4ch, 1tr in next ch, ch4, 1tr in next 5 ch; rep from * to last 2 sts, sk 4ch, 1tr in next ch, ch4, 1tr in last ch, turn.
Row 2:	ch4, * 5tr in next ch4-sp, sk 5tr, 1tr in next tr, ch4; rep from * to end, 1tr on top of t-ch, turn.

Repeat Row 2 of this free crochet stitch pattern until you have reached the desired length for your work.
