Knotted Openwork Stitch Pattern uniquely uses the purl stitches to create a textured fabric. It is a lace pattern with a unique knotted texture and a lattice-like mesh. The knitted fabric is dense and sturdy, but it is still flexible enough. Even though it looks like the Knotted Openwork Stitch Pattern will be stiff, but that isn’t the case with the knitted fabric.

Although it uses basic stitches, knitting this pattern can be slightly tricky and complicated.

You can make a Knotted Openwork Stitch baby blanket or a throw, or any large pieces of fabric. This pattern also looks great in projects like scarves and dishcloths.

Pattern Instructions

CO Multiple of 3.

Row 1:	(WS) – Purl.
Row 2:	k2, * yf, k3 – then pass the first st over the second and third sts, rep from * to last st, k1.
Row 3:	Purl.
Row 4:	k1, * k3 – then pass the first st over the second and third sts, yf, rep from * to last 2 sts, k2.

Repeat this free knit pattern (4 rows) until you have reached the desired length for your work.
