It's only 18 days into the new year and already there's a new hair hue taking over 2017 as the color to covet. Dubbed "blorange," consider this blonde-orange mash-up a first cousin to rose gold hair but peachier, ranging from softer, pastel-like tones to fiery sierra shades. It's equal parts mesmerizing and super-stunning, and is like a subtle sunset on your head.

Even better: "Blorange" complements warm and cool skin tones — if your veins are mostly blue or purple, you have cool undertones; if they're more of a greenish yellow, you have warm undertones. So, similarly to how a peach or apricot-colored blush will be universally flattering, so will this hair color.

Scared to make a major change? If your hair is lighter, dip-dye your ends with a mix of red and orange pigments for a cool ombré effect. And if you're not afraid to go full out, apply the peachy hue from root to tip. "Ask your colorist for a bronze or copper pastel shade," says Cherin Choi, colorist at Benjamin Arts District in Los Angeles. And be sure to pop some lighter "blorange" pieces around your face, like highlights, to keep it flattering. Then, wait for heads to turn.
