Her androgynous allure, flawless skin and punk aesthetic won over the fashion world. Stella Tennant was born on December 17, 1970, in Scotland. The granddaughter of Andrew Cavendish, Stella Tennant started her modeling career in the 1990s and was propelled to the forefront of the fashion scene by the photographer Steven Meisel. She became Karl Lagerfeld's muse, and she walked many seasons for Chanel (she signed an exclusivity contract with the brand in 1996), as well as also Jean Paul Gaultier, Paco Rabanne, Prada and Yves Saint Laurent. She notably appeared in the November 1996 issue of Vogue Paris, photographed by Mikael Jansson

She made a comeback during the Spring/Summer 2019 Fashion Week, walking for several houses such as Victoria Beckham, Burberry or even Calvin Klein 205W39NYC. More recently, she walked the runway for Valentino during the Spring/Summer 2020 haute couture Fashion Week in Paris.

On this Tuesday, December 22, the model passed away at the age of 50. Vogue Paris pays homage to her in pictures.
