The siren, emerging from the Jamaican waters in her white bikini and holding a shell, is a scene that has become iconic. The image of the 27-year-old Ursula Andress is from the first ever James Bond film, Dr. No, and reflects the star power of both the actress and the movie franchise. By 1962, the blond beauty was by no means a beginner. Born in Switzerland, Ursula Andress left for Rome at the age of 17 to pursue her career. By the age of 18 Ursula Andress had established herself as cinema’s bombshell, winning over James Dean, who fell in love with her just before his death. With the same grace and beauty as her close friend Brigitte Bardot, the actress is best known for her starring role alongside Sean Connery. She was known for her famous partners, including Dean Martin, Elvis Presley and Jean-Paul Belmondo, but has lived a more private life since the 1980s.
