Tuesday, October 4, will be an even more beautiful day on the runways at the Paris collections. Danish model (and Karl Lagerfeld muse) Freja Beha Erichsen is rallying the entire fashion industry—“stylists, models, makeup artists, anyone who wants to help”—to support Doctors Without Borders, the humanitarian organization that has been providing emergency medical care and relief to countries in crisis for the last 40 years. “I’ve always admired what they do,” she says. “As an organization, they’re among the first to react around the world. As individuals, they’re incredibly brave, leaving their homes and countries in the [service] of others.” So, tomorrow—a heavy-hitting day that includes the Chanel and Valentino shows—Freja will donate her entire day’s salary to the charity. Fellow catwalkers Arizona Muse, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Sasha Pivovarova, and Kinga Rajzak have signed on, too, with hopefully more to follow. Any donation can help, says Erichsen. “If everyone participates, imagine what could happen.”
