A$AP Rocky has been a significant style star since his early days wearing a “dress” during his appearance on 106 & Park. He released a collaboration for Adidas with Jeremy Scott in 2013 and has been a front-row fixture at Fashion Week over the past few years. On his new album, At.Long.Last.A$AP, he raps, “I swear we gon' have drama if you touch my tailored garments.”

The album, which had a surprise midnight release last night, is full of fashion references. Here’s an annotated guide to his new lyrics and all of the style shout-outs.

From “Canal St.”:

“On my tux, chauffeur pullin' up, no if, ands, or buts about him/I went to Paris for my trunks, 100 thousand spend on Goyard”

Rocky is a pretty big fan of the French leather maker Goyard. Nigo, the founder of A Bathing Ape, gave Rocky a custom Goyard for his 25th birthday in 2013:

“Mouth full of fronts, look like Master P up in my Cartier's/Diamonds shinin' in the frames”

Here Rocky is giving a shout-out to nineties rap icon Master P and his taste of diamond-studded Cartier sunglasses.

From “Excuse Me”:

“I spent 20 thousand dollars with my partners in Bahamas/Another 20 thousand dollars on Rick Owens out in Barneys”

In the past, Rocky has been known for his fondness of **Owens’**s Adidas collaboration and has even hung out with Owens’s wife, Michele Lamy.

From “Lord Pretty Flacko Jodye 2 (LPFJ2)”:

“Always been a stand-up guy, I'd rather stand out/Raf Simons, Stan Smith edition with my bands out”

Raf Simons is another one of A$AP Rocky’s favorite designers. Rocky attended Simons’s show at Paris Fashion Week last year, and told GQ that Simons was one of his “biggest inspirations.” In this line, he’s expressing his fondness for Simons’s rework of the iconic Adidas sneaker:

From “Jukebox Joints”:

“This that dark house party with this record blasting/Rolling spliffs, clique beside me, fingers Liberace/When I seen this bitch in Venice, Tommy and some mean Huaraches”

Rocky describes his ideal party outfit, which includes some Tommy Hilfiger, worn with a pair of boxy Nike Huaraches.

“Call my Prada prior, cause it's dropping next fall/Don't you short the next ball, my closet like the Met ball”

This is a classic style brag—not only does his closet look like the red carpet of the Met Gala, he’s got next season’s Prada already hanging in there, too.

“Man, everything basic to Ye Guevara/That means Saint Laurent is my Zara/I remember Rochelle ain't wanna fuck me with the polo/Ay bitch you missed out, hashtag #Fomo”

Kanye West lends a verse to this song and makes sure to include some style points of his own. In Kanye’s world, fast fashion isn’t Zara—it’s Saint Laurent. He also takes a quick second to reflect on his old looks, giving some love to his 2007-era polos.

From “Pharsyde”:

“Kick off my Maison Martins, lay on back like Martha Mason/Smoke away my eye and lung 'til later die at 71”

In this little bit of wordplay, Rocky gives a nod to Maison Margiela footwear and writer Martha Mason, who spent the majority of her life in an iron lung.

From “West Side Highway”:

“Audemars, season order like summer fall/I throw the Audemars, then I throw out all the ball/New Dior from the boutique store/Only thing in common that we got is that we want it all”

Rocky mentions high-end watchmaker Audemars Piguet twice in this verse. They’ve been a longtime favorite of his, and he mentioned the wristwear on “Hell” from his debut album, saying that they’re the perfect gifts for his “criminal recruits.”

From “M’$”:

“S'what I spent on my watch and I wave it like Mase/'Bout to redo the face, get a see-through AK”

Lil Wayne fits in a sartorial shout on his guest verse, mentioning a legendary hip-hop style moment from 1997. In the video for The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Mo Money Mo Problems,” Mase follows Biggie’s order to “Throw your Rolies in the sky. Wave 'em side to side and keep your hands high.”

From “Back Home”:

“They throwin' mats off, till I go bath salt/On wax, spitting heat to melt the wax off/I'm Mr. Miyagi and Issey Miyake/Asshole flow, fuck name brands, past logos”

On the last track of the album, Rocky gives a notable acknowledgement to Japanese designer Issey Miyake. This is a significant mention because Miyake’s geometric work falls out of Rocky’s usual purview of street style or high-end designers. It’s somewhat niche and might show some progression in his taste.
