Matrimonial ad seeks groom with degrees from top-tier institutes; Internet isn't impressed

Matrimonial sites have been playing significant roles in getting desired bride and groom nowadays in India. However, in many matrimonial advertisements put up people often attract attention for odd preferences and bizarre demands.
One such weird matrimonial advertisement given by a groom on a matrimonial website is going viral across social media and has become a topic of discussion.
The matrimonial ad was posted by a Twitter user who came across the profile of the bride. In the ad, the bride has mentioned her several preferences, including age specification, job profile, salary, location, and family which she desires in her groom. However, it is the educational qualification of the groom that is gaining the most traction on the internet.
The bride has not only mentioned specified degrees but has also demanded that the groom should have completed his course from some premier institutes.
The would-be groom should hold an MBA, MTech, MS, or PGDM degree from a premier, tier-1 institute, the ad said.
In the case of “Tier-1 MBA colleges,” the list included IIT, NIT, IIIT, IISc Bangalore, and others like BITS Pilani, DTU, NSIT, Jadavpur University, read the advertisement.
Similarly in the case of “Tier 1 MBA colleges,” the list included the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Indore, Lucknow, and Kozhikode, along with other top institutes like FMS, ISB, JBIMS, MDI, NITI, SP Jain, SJMSOM and XLRI.
In the age specification, it is clearly mentioned that the groom shouldn’t be born before June 1992. Besides, the package of the would-be groom should have “not less than 30 LPA (corporate sector)”.
The matrimonial profile of the bride further stated that the height of the groom should be between 5’7” to 6’. The suitor’s family should be small, “not more than 2 siblings”. The profile also mentioned that preference will be given more to an educated family be it a service or business family.
After the picture of the matrimonial ad surfaced online, the profile of the bride has been receiving flaks from the internet users. One another section of Twitter users said that the demands of the girl/girl’s family are too high and she/they is/are greedy while others supported the girl's desires as she was free to demand.
