My face was ‘damaged goods’ and I thought I’d never work again after I’m A Celeb fall, says Janice Dickinson
SUPERMODEL Janice Dickinson insists she feared her career could be seriously affected by her horror fall on I’m A Celebrity.
The returning star on the ITV1 reality TV contest stumbled and landed face first in the ground and ended up having to quit the programme prematurely.
Recalling the first moment she saw her injuries in the mirror, Janice, 68, said: “I thought, “Geez, I’ll never work again.” I thought that because I was badly damaged.
“Certainly too damaged to go back on the show. I had blood, bruises up and down my face and there were gaping wounds. It really knocked my confidence.
“I didn’t require stitches, but they had to really clean the wounds really well. It was agony cleaning all the dirt and gravel off of my face, it was horrible.”
Janice, whose new track, Floor, is available to download now, took part in the All Stars version of the show, which was hosted by Ant & Dec, earlier this year in South Africa.
During the night she got up and fell over, but she insists that ITV took great care of her in the aftermath.
She said: “For medical reasons, I had weeks and weeks and weeks of the doctors putting red light laser on my face to help shrink the wounds and it worked.
“Look, I don’t have any scars on my face. Not one. ITV didn’t turn their backs on me for one minute.
“The people on ITV that I worked with and that I worked for couldn’t have been nicer. Everyone was kind.

“It took about three months to properly heal. That was tough. But I’m not the type of person that stares at her face like: ‘What does the mirror say about me today?’”
SOCK IT TO THEM, GIOVANNI
STRICTLY champ Giovanni Pernice has a plan to secure votes for the next series.
Last year he crashed out the competition in the third week with dance partner Richie Anderson – and he’s vowed to never let that happen again.
Chatting alongside pal Anton Du Beke as part of their Him & Me tour on Tuesday night, Gio said: “We can’t repeat what happened last year. I hated it. I need your votes this year.”
Anton reckons it was being dressed as the Lion King’s warthog Pumbaa that was the nail in hunky Gio’s coffin.
He said: “Steer clear of anything Lion King. Avoid the fur. What you need is to get out the budgie smugglers and an extra sock for good measure and then you will go forth in the competition.”
Gio laughed: “Where do I put the sock?”
Anton added: “Well that is up to you. ”
They’d have to air that after the watershed.
JAC: LET'S STREAM SOAPS
EX-EASTENDERS star Jac Jossa is all in a lather over the future of soaps.
The Lauren Branning actress, who made a guest return to the BBC One show last month, insists they must switch to streaming sites to keep up with the times.
She told the Soap From The Box podcast: “We watch and consume things totally differently now.
“If soaps were to move on to something like Netflix, then you would watch it every single night and you would get millions and millions and millions of viewers. How often do we scroll through Netflix and moan, ‘Oh, there’s nothing to watch’?
“We could have just watched half an hour of EastEnders and half an hour of Corrie. If it’s easy and it’s there you would just stick it on and get into the storyline.”
Jac also revealed she reckons EastEnders will still be a success ten years from now, adding: “There’s always a place for it.”
PATRICK'S HAPPY TO BE BACK
PATRICK Kielty has landed a top homecoming gig.
He is set to take over from Ryan Tubridy on Ireland’s The Late Late Show this year.
The presenter, who previously worked on Live At The Apollo as well spending more than a decade in the States, will take his turn in the hot seat – but admits he’s not scared.
He told The Midpoint with Gabby Logan Podcast: “Things are going really, really good, and you always have that thing in the back of your head, ‘Is this too good? What’s round the corner?’
“But as I’ve got a little bit older, I’m a bit more accepting of, ‘Hey this is good news, let’s celebrate this good news and celebrate this moment.”
The Late Late Show, which airs in Ireland, returns to RTE in September.
