On September 17, 2023, Michelle shared a birthday tribute for her husband on Instagram, writing, in part: "Today marks a very special day, a very special birthday.

"About 20 years ago, one weary night, after living with chronic eczema, my husband @myherbitual said to me 'One day I wanna help anyone suffering in their own skin.'

"I’ll admit, at the time, even knowing the plight that he’d endured for years, I was like, 'ok, that’s a really nice sentiment and all', but never in my wildest dreams did I anticipate his perseverance, his personal desperation and his desire to make that dream a reality. Little did I know that his life long struggle would ultimately be his PURPOSE.

"Cut to 20 years later, this very year, he made that 'notion' a reality - for himself and for everyone whose lives he’d hope to touch! @myherbitual has launched! 💫.

"Today, I stand in awe of my hubby’s commitment to his health and of others. I celebrate his birthday but ultimately his journey, one that I, and our children have been witness to, every step (and scratch ;) of the way.

"The pride we have for our beloved dude is infinite. 23 years of careers, kiddos, dreams, dance floors and beaches, he’s our GOAT. #iykyk."

Michelle also praised her husband and his support during an interview with Collider alongside her The Family Plan costar, Mark Wahlberg.

The actress revealed that she had to film "kind of an intimate scene" with her Mission Impossible: III costar Tom Cruise not long after her wedding.

When asked about what acting role made her the most nervous, Michelle named the 2006 action movie.

She said, in part: "I had just gotten married and kind of skipped my honeymoon to start the film right away. Then I remember going to work, and Tom and I had kind of an intimate scene, and of course that was the first scene.

"Then I came home from work, I was so nervous, and my husband was like, 'Don't worry, you're gonna follow his lead. You're gonna have a great time. It's going to be wonderful.'

"I come home at the end of the day, open up the hotel room, and he said, 'How was it?' I was like, 'Oh my god, it was amazing. He was so nice. It was great.' He goes, 'How cool is it that you were making out with Tom Cruise on our honeymoon?' Because we're just such fans."

She added: "He's learning things. But that is a testament to the man that I married, who has just been totally supportive and is excited and jazzed for the opportunities."

When Mark asked Michelle if Peter was "jealous," she responded: "No, he was just so proud."

Do Michelle and Peter have children?

In December 2022, the Daily Mail reported that a 2014 Conan interview with Michelle resurfaced in which the actress discussed why she did not raise her kids in Australia.

When speaking about the Australian culture, she said, in part: "They shorten everything. They're actually very lazy speakers, and I can say this because I'm married to one, all my friends are Aussies.

She continued, in part: "But they not only shorten their sentences, but they shorten their words."

She then noted hearing a man on the national news say "sunnies" instead of sunglasses and "brekkie" in place of breakfast.

Michelle then said, in part: "And I'm thinking, 'The children watch this.'"

Laughing, she continued, in part: "So we're not raising our children in Australia 'cause they'll only learn a quarter of the English language."
