Gemma Atkinson shows off her incredible post-baby body transformation 18 months after giving birth
GEMMA Atkinson has let her fans in on the success of her post-baby transformation and her secret is, a lot of hard work.
The actress, 36, showed off her how she got back her pre-baby body and promised fans it took patience despite her gruelling workout routine.
Gemma and boyfriend Strictly Come Dancing's Gorka Marquez welcomed their new baby on July 4, 2019.
She told her fans how she did not want to put too much pressure on herself to lose weight and how she felt stronger than ever before.
In a video montage, Gemma filmed a selfie of herself in the mirror while pregnant with Mia, after giving birth and 18 months after becoming a mum.
The video also featured Gemma working hard in the gym, including using her adorable tot as weight while doing squats.
With Alicia Keys' This Girl Is On Fire playing over the video, fans watched Gemma sweat it out in the gym doing pushups, squatting with a weighted vest, skipping and doing plank taps as Mia and her dog watched on.
Gemma wrote on Instagram: "My 18 month journey 🥰 I’m feeling stronger and healthier than before I was pregnant, both mentally and physically.
"No rushing, no pressure and no extreme fads or silly diets. Just a little patience, a lot of consistency and a lot of small changes make a BIG difference.
"Take your time ladies and do what feels right for you. I’m so proud of being Mia’s mum and I’m so grateful that my body helped to grow, carry and bring her into the world."
Gemma managed to keep up her training routine while looking after Mia alone as Gorka isolated to be able to participate in last year's Strictly.
The pro dancer and EastEnders partner Maisie Smith finished as runners-up in last year's Strictly final, and the Spaniard admitted it was hard being away from his family.
Ahead of the series' final Gorka opened up about his struggle being away from his family.
Speaking to It Takes Two host Rylan Clark-Neal, he said: "There were times where I thought, 'What am I doing?'"
To which Rylan replied: "Surely getting to the final now with Maisie going the full way is a little bit of a consolation for it?"
Gorka then said: "Obviously there were times where I thought, 'What am I doing? Why am I not going home?'
"It’s very hard to be away from Gemma and Mia.
"But coming into the studio every day and to have [Maisie] there pushing and smiling trying to be her best, it pays off."
Gemma and Gorka became a couple after they fell for each other after meeting on the 2017 series of Strictly and then had their first child together the following year.
Trying to turn his sadness into a positive, he added: "I am just grateful she's in the final and hopefully it ends on a happy ending for you.

Things then took a very emotional turn as Rylan surprised Gorka with a message from former Gemma and their baby girl.
In the video the actress told her partner how much they loved and missed him, which caused Gorka to break down in tears.
