Kat Von D Ends Friendship with Jeffree Star on Social Media

Ending a friendship can be an awkward, difficult process that involves tears, texts, and lots of hurt feelings. Throw in social media, and the whole debacle gets even that much more complicated. Which is exactly what happened today when makeup and tattoo artist Kat Von D publicly broke up with her old friend, makeup artist Jeffree Star. Kat posted a picture of Jeffree with the universal symbol of “NO” placed directly on his face.

In Kat’s post, see below, she explains that she had to put an end to their relationship due to Jeffree’s “drug use, racism, and bullying.” These are no small claims. Kat also revealed in the statement that because of this termination of their friendship, she will also be pulling the successful, electric pink lipstick she named after Jeffree from her collection.

Jeffree tweeted a series of responses on Twitter, pointing the finger back at Kat by saying she never supported him or his successful brand, and explaining that they even texted as recently as last Saturday. The Twitter back-and-forth then continued, as Kat responded with an accusatory tweet regarding stolen artwork.

Then, Kat took to YouTube, to give an in-depth explanation as to why she decided to make this announcement — she discussed everything from Jeffree’s bullying of makeup brands, to how he mistreats his fanbase, to exactly what artwork is in question.
