Update: May 2, 2018, 2:45 PM:

Ryan Reynolds has finally responded to news of Blake Lively unfollowing him on Instagram in a new interview with Australian radio program Smallzy's Surgery. When asked about the unfollow, Ryan took the matter very seriously, saying, "Yes, she did. I'm very sad about that. Definitely stinks. It's a terrible way to find out that I've been kicked out of the house, to be honest. Absolutely terrible. I don't know where rage like that comes from."

Blake's decision to pare down her social media ended up being part of a publicity stunt for her upcoming film, A Simple Favor, which she'll star in alongside Anna Kendrick. Ryan, who is gearing up for summer premiere of Deadpool 2, also imagined what it would be like to tell his children of the slight. "'Mommy unfollowed daddy on Instagram,'" he deadpanned. "My child would just fart and then walk away."

Something is going on over at Blake Lively's Instagram, and it's very confusing. The actor appears to have deleted every photo she's ever posted to the social media app, including her profile picture, and has unfollowed almost everyone — including husband Ryan Reynolds. It's unclear what exactly is happening, but Blake might have left a clue in her bio. It now mysteriously reads, "What happened to Emily?..." and she's only following profiles with the name Emily Nelson.

The only hint Blake gave that something big was about to happen was when she posted a picture of a hangman game with the answer being that same question about Emily on April 30, before deleting everything on May 1. Some have speculated that the sudden dramatic change has to do with Blake's new movie, A Simple Favor: The film, which also stars Anna Kendrick, is an adaptation of a book by the same name about the mysterious disappearance of a woman, played by Blake, named (you guessed it) Emily Nelson.

Some of the innocent Emily Nelsons who have recently gotten a follow from Blake have posted about their excitement and confusion on social media. "Does anyone want to tell me why Blake Lively followed me and had this as a bio," one Emily wrote on Twitter, adding, "Goodbye cruel world some hacker is anti-Emily, my time has come :-)." And more than one person suggested they'd like to curse their parents for not having the good sense to name them after the character. "Tempted to change my name to Emily Nelson, so I can get a follow from Blake Lively. Lol," one Twitter user wrote.

So even though it seems like this really is all just a publicity stunt for A Simple Favor, we're going to need Blake to follow Ryan again and continue their beautiful and epic trolling relationship on the 'gram immediately, please.
