Amanda Setton Opens up About the New Brook Lynn on GH

Ned and Lois’ daughter started out as quite the troublemaker on GENERAL HOSPITAL but recently she’s matured and grown as a person so that when she does cause trouble, her heart is at least in the right place!

Pretending to be pregnant with Valentin’s baby actually led to Brook Lynn helping protect Maxie’s baby from Peter after her birth, which forged quite a strong friendship between the two women. “I think that whole maternal scheme transformed Brook Lynn and softened her and showed us a completely different side of her,” Amanda Setton told Soap Opera Digest of her alter ego.

But it’s Brook Lynn’s relationship with Chase that has really transformed the character into the woman she is today. “She has that trust with Chase and doesn’t really have it with anyone else,” Setton mused. “She can’t trust her grandmother. Her father is not who he says he is [because he thinks he’s Eddie Maine]. She’s been fired from her job.

“She’s sort of in this transition time,” she added, “but, you know, she’s still got her grandmother’s streak in her! She’s reformed, but she’s still Brook Lynn Quartermaine.”

Still, moving in with Chase has taken their relationship to the next level and shows that she’s ready to think more seriously about her future. “I think she is very communicative about the fact that she will be going back to the mansion often, which she has been doing,” Setton noted. “But ultimately, she really does want a life with this person and sees herself with Chase. I think to take the step of moving in together speaks to the change in Brook Lynn and how much she wants to be with him.”
