According to People, Rosario Dawson adopted a then 11-year-old Isabella in 2014. In an interview with Health in 2021, she said she knew Isabella’s biological mother and when she found out she was in foster care, she reached out to offer her support. “It wasn’t even a question; it was clearly meant to be,” Dawson said, “We are a family, and it’s beautiful.”

The Men In Black 2 actress named her daughter after her grandma. “She’s named after my grandmother, so my grandmother was Isabel. My mom’s Isabel Celeste, I’m Rosario Isabel,” she said on an episode of the We Are Family podcast.
