The news came as a big shock to the lingerie brand’s biggest stars, including supermodel Candice Swanepoel, who first became a Victoria’s Secret Angel back in 2010.
But that hasn’t stopped Swanepoel’s career from flourishing. In fact, the 33-year-old South African is estimated to have a net worth of around US$25-33 million, and shows no signs of slowing down. And her personal life isn’t doing too badly either.

She’s a mum of two
Back when Swanepoel was 17, she met 23-year-old Brazilian model Hermann Nicoli during a trip to Paris. The pair eventually got engaged in 2015 and had two children together.
In 2016, the supermodel announced on Instagram that she was expecting a baby, and gave birth to a boy named Anaca in October.
Then in December 2017, Swanepoel announced that she was pregnant for a second time, and little Ariel was born the following June.
“It’s pretty intense, but it’s amazing. To see the love between them is amazing … It’s a lot, I’m not gonna lie. The second one is a lot easier, but the situation of having two makes it harder,” she told People.
The big split
Sadly, Swanepoel’s happy family was not meant to last. Fans started to notice a divide between the couple when Nicoli last appeared on her Instagram back in September 2017, and she stopped showing up on his in October 2017. Most tellingly, they also unfollowed each other on the app.
After much speculation, Swanepoel eventually addressed the situation during an Instagram Q&A with fans in 2019, confirming she was single without offering any further details.
The couple were together for 13 years before calling it quits.

The 33-year-old former Victoria’s Secret star was photographed earlier this month on a romantic stroll with Spanish model Andres Velencoso in Paris.
The hot new couple were seen with their arms wrapped around each other as they soaked in the sights and sounds of the picturesque Jardin des Tuileries.
If his name sounds familiar, it’s because the 44-year-old model previously dated Australian singer Kylie Minogue and Money Heist actress Ursula Corbero.
She’s a businesswoman now
Swanepoel isn’t just a pretty face with a picture perfect life, she’s also a savvy businesswoman.
She recently launched her own swimwear line that aims to bring fashion and sustainability to the beach. Her brand, Tropic of C, consists of timeless, eco-friendly swimwear pieces for a “sustainable swim” – and of course, she models the range herself.
“I wanted the line to be something I could be proud of from all angles, not just adding to the problem. I want to leave the world a better place, not worse,” she told Fashion Week Daily.

The catwalk queen’s reign continues
She may not be an iconic Angel for Victoria’s Secret any more, but that hasn’t kept Swanepoel off the runway.
The OG supermodel shared the runway with A-listers including Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and Kaia Gerber at the star-studded event.
When she’s not strutting her stuff at Fashion Week, she spends her time between New York and Brazil.
