Nicki Minaj and Other Fashion Disasters at Last Night's MTV VMAs

In case you missed the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards when it aired live-ish last night—don't worry, we're sure it will be in reruns on MTV for, like, the next 11 months, so you can catch it then—here are some of the celebrity looks from the evening.

Nicki Minaj, who won Best Hip-Hop Video, showed up wearing a face mask and proceeded to try to give an arrivals interview whilst wearing the face mask. Jared Leto and his band 30 Seconds From Mars looked like fashion refugees from 2003. Selena Gomez wore a Julien Macdonald mullet gown; her boyfriend Justin Bieber wore red pants, lots of accessories, an Yves Saint Laurent jacket and brooch, and made penis jokes. Katy Perry wore a big yellow cube on her head to collect her award for Video fo the Year. And we've never seen as many prints and patterns in one line-up as the group shot of the Jersey Shore cast—what's your final verdict on Deena's rainbow dress?

Some stars looked fantastic, though: We liked Britney Spears' dress (hold the shoes, though), and Adele looked beautiful and elegant in her Burberry arrivals dress and Barbara Tfank performance dress. We're torn about Selena Gomez's gown (what do you think?). And what about Demi Lovato's Mandalay mini?

One moment of amazingness to note: Beyonce turned up on the red carpet wearing a stunning Lanvin gown, didn't give any on-camera interviews, but apparently told the MTV folks that she was pregnant—then she was photographed holding her tummy. This is when Twitter imploded upon itself with OMG Beyonce is Pregnant tweets—Beyonce and Jay-Z's fetus already has a Twitter account, btw. Then, after her performance, for which she wore head-to-toe Dolce & Gabbana, Beyonce whipped off her jacket and rubbed her tummy. Jay-Z and Kanye West did a really cute happy-baby dance in the audience, and everything in the world seemed right again.
