Biography: Nicolas Cage made his acting debut in the 1982 film "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" and has gone on to have a long, successful and varied career. He has had leading roles in a variety of films, ranging from romantic comedies and dramas to science fiction and action films.

Known for his prolificacy, Cage has appeared in over 110 films and at least one film every year since 1982, except for 1985.

He is the recipient of one Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in "Leaving Las Vegas" (1995) for which he also won a Golden Globe. His other notable films include "Raising Arizona" (1987), "Moonstuck" (1987) opposite Cher, and David Lynch's "Wild at Heart" (1990) with Laura Dern.
