The Big Bang Theory is one of the most popular sitcoms of the last decade and came to an official end in 2018. The CBS sitcom ran for 12 seasons. Its main characters were renowned scientists, who liked comics and video games and who had difficulty relating socially outside their own sphere.
But the series also had another great main character who was the complete opposite of her neighbors, Penny, who was played by Kaley Cuoco. Thanks to the series, the actor became known to the general public, as did most of the cast.
Kaley Cuoco's boyfriend didn't know her
That's why every time someone sees Kaley Cuoco in another film, in an interview or anywhere else, they immediately associate her with 'The Big Bang Theory'. Everyone except her partner, who was unaware of her role as Penny in the show.
Cuoco's boyfriend, Tom Pelphrey, said in an interview with W Magazine that he didn't know she was so famous or why his mother's boyfriend started calling her Penny.
"I'm like, 'I'm sorry, I don't understand what's going on. Why is he calling you Penny?' Pelphrey asked.
"That's my character on The Big Bang Theory," Cuoco responded.
"I've seen a few episodes with her since then and she's obviously fantastic," he concluded.
It's also strange because Pelphrey is also an actor, having been on shows like 'Ozark' and 'Love & Death', but he blames a lack of television interest.
"I live in a cave. Before I met Kaley, I lived in upstate New York, on a dirt road, in the middle of the woods, without much Wi-Fi. She's brought me into modern times."
