How music helps me focus. Have you ever felt overwhelmed by a huge "to do" list? Do you find it hard to focus on a given task? Have you tried Vivaldi? Mozart? Bach? A number of studies over the years have shown the link between listening to classical music and its ability to help us focus. Classical music might not be your first choice of musical genre, however, the mid level BPMs create the perfect environment to calm our brain and help us to focus on the task at hand. Having the planets by Holst on in the background can really help me focus on a difficult task. I find it helps me to block out the stress of the "to dos", I'm able to complete that task quicker and I'm happier with the outcome. That then allows me to move through that list in a calmer, more measured and quicker way, I'm focused on the task and not stressing about everything that needs to be done. What music works for you?
