De Mornay 'most proud' of Flipped

Rebecca De Mornay stars in new movie Flipped

Risky Business actress Rebecca De Mornay couldn't be prouder of her new film Flipped.

"It was one of the greatest experiences I've ever had and one of the stories that I've been most proud of being a part of in all the films I've done," she explained at the film's LA premiere.

She added: "When I read the script I was so moved, I cried and I thought it was probably the best script I'd read in 10 years."

Stand By Me's Rob Reiner directs a young cast in a coming-of-age romantic comedy set in the 60s, in which Rebecca plays the mum of one of the lead characters.

"She's very unhappy and she doesn't really know it," she revealed.

"The costumes were wonderful but the repression is very, very deep."

"Things were just very un-liberated for women, for racism, for hitting children as a way of parenting. Those things have changed for the better but there was some sense of innocence and safety in those days that we don't have now," she said.
