Kim Porter, the model and actress and ex-girlfriend of rapper Sean Combs, was found dead Thursday, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
“Sadly, I can confirm the passing of Kim Porter. I ask that you give the families privacy at this time,” read a statement from Porter’s rep.
Los Angeles police were called to Porter’s house in Toluca Lake around 11:30 a.m., where she was found unresponsive, authorities told THR. She was later pronounced dead.
The cause of death was not immediately clear, but Porter, according to TMZ, had been suffering from the flu or pneumonia for several weeks.
Porter, 47, was born in Columbus, Georgia, where she began modeling and graduated from Columbus High School in 1988. She raised her first child, Quincy, born in 1991, with former boyfriend and music producer Al B. Sure. Porter began a relationship with Combs in 1997, and the two officially split in 2007. She had three children with Combs: a son, Christian, and twin daughters D’Lila Star and Jessie James.
Porter had small roles in Gary Hardwick’s 2001 film The Brothers and Dale Resteghini’s 2006 movie The System Within. She also starred on Fox’s 2006-2007 series Wicked Wicked Games and VH1’s 2011 series Single Ladies, as well as in the 2011 Charles Randolph-Wright film Mama I Want to Sing.
In a penultimate post to her Instagram, Porter shared a picture of her children and Combs, captioned “LOVE.”
