Country singer and actress Jana Kramer has joined the indie musical Country Crush.
The drama from Andrew Cymek follows city girl Nancy Taylor (newcomer Madeline Merlo) who meets Charlie Bishop (Munro Chambers) on her way to a party in the country. He returns with her to New York City where her music career is beginning to flourish, and despite the reservations of her best friend Ainsley (Sophie Tweed-Simmons), their romance continues.
Kramer will play the young wife and mother Katherine Bishop, the sister-in-law to Chambers’ character.
The actress started her country music career in 2012 with the successful single “Why Ya Wanna” and a self-titled album. Her latest single “I Got the Boy” was released in January in anticipation of her second album this summer. She previously appeared on TV in recurring roles on One Tree Hill, 90210 and Friday Night Lights.
Her film credits include Click and Prom Night. She’s repped by Intellectual Artists Management.
Cymek wrote Country Crush with songwriting by Tal Bachman and composers Glenn Coulson and Marty Beecroft. Brigitte Kingsley, Nick Baillie and Robert Kingston will executive produce with Cymek. Stryker Entertainment and Defiant Empire will distribute.
