A celebrity wedding always calls for a glamorous wedding gown or, in Simone Biles' case, four glamorous wedding gowns. When the American gymnast married her longtime love Jonathan Owens in Cabo over the weekend, she wore not one, but four custom looks by Galia Lahav.
The wedding weekend began with a celebration on the eve of the big day, and Biles chose a white, strappy mini dress covered in sparkly embellishments and classic court shoes for the occasion.
When it came to walking down the aisle, Biles opted for a classic ballgown silhouette in the form of the brand's Gimaya dress, which had been custom-made for her. It featured a classic corset with a flowing box-pleated skirt, 3D floral lace detail and a slit up the leg.
For the reception, the bride changed into a more fitted design in the form of the brand's Maya, a semi-sheer mermaid gown, which featured just as much beautiful floral appliqué detail. And finally, when it came to dancing the night away, she opted for a long, embellished dress, a custom version of one of the brand's popular A-line designs.
"Working with Simone on her magical day has been absolutely incredible and we are so grateful for the trust she has put into us to make her wedding day as special as it was," the designer Galia Lahav said. The wedding weekend followed the couple's courthouse nuptials a few weeks ago, where they legally made things official. For that, a much more low-key occasion, Biles wore a more toned-down bridal ensemble, choosing a white halterneck dress by affordable label Selfie Leslie and shoes from Amazon, which she told fans she had ordered and organised the week of the wedding.
