Jennifer Saunders and Dawn French are the ultimate BFFs and they had all the love at Tuesday's GLAMOUR Awards - they even got a standing ovation.
The Absolutely Fabulous star was presented her Outstanding Contribution award by Dawn French to a standing ovation from the rest of the room. Dawn took the opportunity to mock her friend and long-term collaborator, saying:
"Why exactly she is being rewarded for bad behavior and relentless showing off I don't know. I asked Glamour why in holy tits was she chosen ahead of some of the people in this room <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_156621229"><span class="aQJ">tonight and here's what they sent me: She's a comedy icon, got an international Emmy and a Writers Guild Award to prove it. She's appeared in over 30 shows. Big deal. She's become one of the best loved comedy duos in history, and now has the huge fuck off big movie version of Absolutely Fabulous. So? She's an inspiration to a whole new generation of celebrity comics including Amy Schumer and Lena Dunham, but hey ho..."
In true Eddie from Ab Fab style, Saunders then followed up with, "Don't stand behind me you fucking twat," before adding, "I would like to thank my lovely good friend here, Dawn French. Thank you. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you. You are my inspiration."
And proving why we love her, she humbly accepted her award, saying "If I've made an outstanding contribution to anything I hope it's to female friendships."
What's more, Jennifer dedicated her GLAMOUR Award for Outstanding Contribution to comedian Victoria Wood who died in April this year: "I dedicate this award to someone who passed away this year, Victoria Wood. She was a great friend to us and it was a great loss."
