Sometimes, you really don't want to know how much you weigh--even if you're trying to shed a few pounds. I've already mentioned my extreme aversion to weighing myself. Here's what you do: Cover up the first two numbers on your digital bathroom scale. When you hop on, you'll only see the last number and you can use that as a guide to see if you're gaining, losing or maintaining. For example, if someone weighs 138 pounds, she would only see the "8." A week later, if the number is less than 8, she knows that she's lost weight. If it's above 8, she knows she's gained weight. Brilliant!

What do you think of this trick? Would you try it? Does it make the prospect of weighing yourself seem less nerve-wracking?
