Forget the fact that I had glasses, braces, and a serious set of "mall bangs" when I was 12--I was also rocking the heck out of hot pink parachute sweatsuits and multiple scrunchies. I've been in the habit of giving myself a pass for those style transgressions--chalk it up to adolescent confusion!--but considering that my new favorite style star is also a pre-teen, I'm suffering from a bit of jealous hindsight.
Elle Fanning is still middle school-aged, and yet she's already living a life most of us would dream of: Starring in a new Sofia Coppola movie, jet setting around the world, and rocking the heck out of some very major designer frocks. Check out some of her recent looks:
She wore head-to-toe Rodarte, styled just like the runway model, a few weeks back. I can't believe she managed to work it in those insane Nicholas Kirkwood shoes!
At the Governor's Ball, she looked both sweet and sophisticated at the same time in Valentino. Her sister Dakota is a big fan of the brand, too!
She swept our best dressed poll in Valentino once again at the Somewhere premiere, beating out lifelong fashionistas like Erin Wasson and Sofia herself!

Even her casual side is completely chic--and totally her own! At a photo opp at the Venice Film Festival, she rocked an oversize plaid dress by Opening Ceremony with knee socks and Doc Martens.
Later that evening, she turned up the glamour factor in a chic floral dress by Marc Jacobs.
