Irina Shayk Just Wore the World's Least Practical String Bikini

The supermodel isn't buying into the “stealth wealth” trend.

Irina Shayk was truly living her best life at Coachella last weekend. In addition to being spotted partying at the club with Oscar winner and “longtime” friend Leonardo DiCaprio, the 37-year-old supermodel served a number of iconic looks at the desert music festival.

After kicking the weekend off in a sheer maxi dress made by Riccardo Tisci, Shayk rotated through several other statement-making fits, including a khaki Yves Saint Laurent jumpsuit paired with leopard print knee-high Versace boots; an oversized Alaia blazer accessorized with door-knocker hoop earrings; and a vintage paisley print Etro skirt with a billowing brown sweatshirt thrown on top. Her most memorable Coachella fit, however, was her last: a leather Burberry swimsuit and Vivienne Westwood platform booties topped by a pair of Rick Owens ski goggle-style sunglasses. Seriously, what happens if that suit actually gets wet?

While many celebrities, such as Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner, have been backing away from Coachella stunt fashion in favor of “stealth wealth” in recent years, it was heartening to see others like Irina Shayk and fellow model Alessandra Ambrosio return to form with over-the-top, Instagram-worthy ensembles at this year's festival.

“I love mixing some of my favorite designer pieces and really amazing vintage pieces, to create super unique looks,” Shayk told Vogue of her Coachella wardrobe this year. “Coachella is a great opportunity to recycle some looks you’ve had in your closet for a while—and mix and match them in a new and fun way.”

She added, “I love popping into vintage shops, whether that’s in New York or when I am traveling, because you really get the chance to find really unique pieces."
