Ah, the new Gossip Girl—a show in which teachers surveil and terrorize rich teens for the sake of #content. As an O.G. viewer, I was beginning to believe there would be no adult on this show for my almost 30-year-old self to identify with, but then something amazing happened in episode 10.
On the December 2 episode of the Gossip Girl reboot, Audrey's mom scored invites to the Waldorf residence for an exclusive Hanukkah dinner party. You know, to boost her fashion career or something…that's not important! What matters is that actor Margaret Colin returned as Blair Waldorf's mom, Eleanor Waldorf-Rose, along with Jewish icon Cyrus Rose, played by Wallace Shawn. But the excitement didn't end there. As teased by Gossip Girl's social media accounts the day before, Zuzanna Szadkowski made a triumphant return as Dorota Kishlovsky.

“Just being with them was a joy, because they themselves are icons as humans, and as their characters,” showrunner Joshua Safran told TVLine, adding that he reached out to Szadkowski first “and it was just a hop, skip, and a jump to the rest of them. Being there to watch them was a joy, writing for them was a joy, and making Margaret speak Yiddish was a joy.”
Safran wasn't the only one overjoyed by the return of these faves. Fans on Twitter were also freaking out. “DOROTA THE LEGEND, THEEE QUEEN IS BACK,” one user replied, while another tweeted, “I LEGIT SCREAMED.”

Of course, everyone wants to know whether this means Blair (Leighton Meester) or any of the other original cast members will return to the Upper East Side anytime soon. Well, let's just say that these cameos were likely very deliberate.
“We made a decision early on…that the audience would never accept these characters if they were in the shadow of the original characters,” Safran told The Daily Beast in July. “If Blair showed up for two scenes, you’d say, ‘I want more Blair.’ The decision was: Let’s get season one under our belt, and should we get season two, we’ll have the chance to bring in cameos that are more than glorified cameos but actually give them storylines.”
At least we learned Blair has finally taken over her mother's fashion empire and is living her best life in and out of Paris!
