Channing Tatum has no plans to hide his former stripping career from his daughter, Everly Elizabeth Maiselle Tatum

After starring in a very popular film franchise loosely based on his time as a stripper in Tampa, the Magic Mike star said he plans to be honest with his nine-year-old daughter…when she can actually watch them, that is.

“When she's old enough to watch them, we'll have that conversation,” he told Entertainment Tonight in an interview published on January 25. “There's no version of me not having the conversation of ‘Dad didn't just do them in movies, I was an actual stripper,’ so I'm not gonna lie to her.”

Tatum also told ET that while the upcoming third film, Magic Mike's Last Dance, will not be the end of the MM Universe—take the ongoing stage production Magic Mike Live! for instance—it will be an end of an era. He said the story will “just gonna keep going” but added, "I can't tell you there's gonna be another [film].” I mean, it's kind of all in the name….

Channing Tatum shares his daughter with his ex-wife Jenna Dewan. “In the beginning, [the split] was super scary and terrifying,” he recently told Vanity Fair of the pair's 2018 split. “Your life just turns on its axis. This whole plan that you had literally just turns into sand and goes through your fingers and you’re just like, ‘Oh, shit. What now?’”

In February 2022, Tatum shared that he was “doubly afraid” of becoming a single dad. “I know that I liked to act and play make-believe and magical things, but I just didn’t know if I was going to be able to meet her on her level, especially now that I’m a single dad,” he told Jonah Hill, per The Hollywood Reporter. “I was doubly afraid. Was I going to be able to do any of the stuff that a mother should do? That a mother, as a woman, can relate to her as?”

He continued, “As that journey unfolded, I realized that all I really had to do was just go into her world and do whatever that is that she wanted to do.”
