The beautiful lake, Ochiul Beiului

Among the most beautiful sights of Romania also included the beautiful lake, Ochiul Beiului, from Caraş-Severin County.

Ochiul Beiului is located in the National Park of Nera Keys – Beușnița, to the limit of Aninei and Locvei Mountains at an altitude of 310 meters. The shape of the lake is a crater with a depth of 3.6 meters and the water is so clean that you can easily admire the creatures that live in it.

The thing that makes the lake very attractive is the fact that this lake never freezes. Throughout the year the lake keeps a constant temperature of 4-8ºC.

The lake is positioned near the three waterfalls of the river Beuşniţa and the wild surroundings, like Ilidia medieval ruins, is one of the most beautiful tourist spots in the region of Banat.

The lake is widely popular because of the legends. One says that Midsummer Night, Fairies gather around the lake. They are very beautiful and I bewitch the men by their own charm.

The transparency of the water in that mirror the coniferous forest and the sky, the turquoise water, almost unreal, make this lake a fairytale place.
