Aiguebelette-le-Lac

Ancient castle built in the early fourteenth century, the castle still proudly presents its Aiguebelette some remains. Destroyed on the orders of Louis XI, it was rebuilt in the sixteenth century by the lords of Romagnieu before being erected in barony a century later. It remains today as the enclosure walls of sides and bases of round towers. It is part of the remains of the old fortified town.

Near the Romanesque St Andrew's Church is another architectural attraction of Aiguebelette-le-Lac. It reveals a Gothic nave and including a flaming chapel fully restored in the mid nineteenth century.

But it is mainly for its beautiful lake that the village attracts visitors passing. The practice of water sports is possible, as the lifeguard in the summer. Several hiking trails are also used to explore the surrounding area or explore the wildlife and local flora.
