Better Than Sex by Too Faced is a Floral Fruity fragrance for women. Better Than Sex was launched in 2021. The nose behind this fragrance is Frank Voelkl. Top notes are Passionfruit, Citruses, Litchi and Peach; middle notes are Rose, Orchid, Magnolia and Jasmine; base notes are Musk, Patchouli, Amber, Cedar and Sandalwood.

Too Faced Cosmetics launches Better Than Sex Eau de Parfum, the fragrance named after its iconic mascara.

The fragrance is described as sexy, modern, and rebellious; feminine with a touch of masculinity. Perfumer Frank Voelkl worked on its creation.

The brand's co-founder and CEO Jerrod Blandino said: "The fragrance bottle was designed with elements from the iconic pink, embossed metal, sleek Better Than Sex mascara, combined with inspiration from design elements of an antique French lamp that I have in my home office that’s detailed with the floral, architectural lion mouth ring and ormolu gold details. The fragrance cap is adorned with a pink diamond inspired by my wedding ring, meant to evoke the love energy that diamonds hold.”

Too Faced Better Than Sex is available as a 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Hmmmmm, she's kind of special. I'm not sure how I feel about this fragrance. For the price point, I feel like this perfume definitely delivers what it's supposed to. However, it also smells very familiar. I suppose you're better off getting this, rather than buying Narciso Rodriguez or Lancome.

That being said, this perfume almost smells identical to La Nuit Tresor. These perfumes give a similar vibe to Narciso Rodriguez, as well. Better Than Sex smells very mature. It smells like the epitome of a mature woman that doesn't put up with bs, but also likes to grab a cosmopolitan after work. It smells grown up. If you like to smell like a grown up, this fragrance is for you.

It's a long lasting fragrance, the sillage definitely delivers. The projection is there. If you overspray it can be entirely too much. I will say, I don't think this perfume is inoffensive. It's bold and makes a statement, and it can be deemed a mature scent. Floral, wood, incense, and fruit are some of the notes I can personally detect.

lanadelreyy

when you first spray it you'll be looking for your granny. but let it dry down and some fresh fruity florals. soooooo delicious but pretty expensive tbh. i feel like its a unique scent and the packaging is gorgeous.

flynne19

I personally do not like this perfume. The bottle is gorgeous to have in your collection but that’s it. The powderyness in this is too strong for my liking. I do pickup on the fruits and the floral of this fragrance which is nice that the powderyness of it isn’t fully ruining the scent. But the powder is definitely noticeable. My boyfriend on the other hand loves this scent a lot. So I guess if you want a scent that’ll get a guys attention get this

Gemsense

Omg that bottle!!! It’s gorgeous!!! I want it soooo bad💗

FlowerSeeker

A fun and feminine scent! Some of the bass notes can be overwhelming for me in other fragrances so I wasn’t sure how well this would work for me. I was delighted to find that they’re all used in a subtle and classy way. I found myself wanting to sniff my skin throughout the day. I enjoyed wearing it. Every once in a while there would be a sour note. Maybe the cedar? I’m not sure. But it wasn’t enough for me to stop sniffing my arm. Fun to wear!

vamppixie

This shit is sooo good. Like seriously. I’m not a big fan of the bottle (too pink and girly for my taste) but the scent is the perfect combination of sweet and sexy.

MCarus

This fragrance doesn’t told much. Is just a regular one more on the shelve but nothing important been honest.

GiveYouOneGuess

Where do I find this? I’m from Australia and it’s not here unfortunately- doubt it ever will be :(

Heavenly Heather

Bright, tropical, fresh, and so pretty! The passionfruit, litchi and peach are mouthwatering while the florals give this fragrance freshness. Then there’s woodiness and some patchouli in the base that gives it some depth. This will be wonderful for spring/summer!

don’t listen to them it truly is better than sex
When the package arrived I wasn’t home so it took me a while to get to open it (bed time actually). Let’s just say right before laying down is NOT a good time to try a new scent. I went to bed thinking “what the f was I thinking? I woke swearing I was getting rid of it. But after a few days I was lounging around in my bed watching Roswell on my laptop and thought I need some scent on me. So I thought what the heck, imma try this again. Y’all. After just a few minutes of wear I started yearning to sniff myself. The smell was exquisite. It was sweet and alluring and sexy and I was in awe. i kept smelling my wrists thinking how can my opinion have changed so much? Around 30 minutes later my husband came to see what i was doing n crawled in bed with me to see what I was watching and cuddled next to me he says “you smell so good, what are you wearing?!" And I snickered and said it's “better than sex!” Moral of this story y’all. Too faced knocked this out of the park. Frank Voelkl is now an icon in my book and I want to find more fragrances he has thought up bc dang! I’m in love. sillage is ok, longevity is not really able to be guaged by me because at some point I go nose blind and reapply because I dont want to go without the scent, I highly recommend getting this scent and it is a limited edition so ive purchased 2 bottles so far for safe keeping.
***I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO IN LOVE WITH A PERFUME, SIMPLY AMAZED.

drugstore classics

Pretty bottle. Passionfruit and litchi generally smell rank on me, but I will give it the benefit of the doubt that it's phenomenal on someone... else. Even so, should I see it in stores, I will give it a sniff!

Complaints on names being tiresome, I usually refrain.... Here I shall register a slight objection. I think they have set up the wrong expectations. The well-beloved cake of that name is CHOCOLATE. How can it be that they missed the opportunity here to add even ONE whiff of chocolate? Enough said. ;)

MissGirly87

I love this scent. It's so fun and cute and sexy. It smells like a lot of tropical fruits with beautiful florals behind it, but all the notes are so warm that it's more of a cold-weather fragrance.

I was worried that the patchouli in it would be too much for me (patchouli tends to give me a headache). But it doesn't bother me and doesn't ruin the scent for me.

I've tried all the other fragrances that everyone is comparing this to, Delina, Coco Mademoiselle, etc. And to me, yes this does smell like them, but it's the best out of all of them - because every time I try those other rosy-fruity trendy perfumes, they don't smell good on me. But Better Than Sex does! I'm going to keep going back to this for a long time!

mariboo

It was a blind buy for me and I couldn’t be happier. Given its name, I expected the scent to be darker and more mature than what it actually is, but I still love it. It feels extremely feminine, fresh, youthful, flirty, and fun. A beautiful fragrance and the bottle design is gorgeous. If you enjoy the coquette aesthetic, this one is a must!

Autumn_Moon

I grabbed a random sample out of my "to try" pile and gave this a whirl today.

At first spray, I pick up a lot of passionfruit and citrus, and it feels like it projects quite well. This eventually calms down, and the fragrance veers into fruity-floral "fruitchouli" territory, where it stays of the duration of its existence on my skin (about 4 hours). It's mostly sweet, and occasionally throws off a rather agreeable cotton-candy vibe (though that's not listed in the notes). This is a fun note, to be sure, but I'm not quite convinced that it's "me." Once in a while, I catch a wave of sourness (probably the citrus peeking in from time to time), and the sweet cotton candy is contrasted with the sour while balancing on a base that feels like clean/white musk and patchouli. I'm not getting any cedar or sandalwood in the drydown, though your experience may differ.

It does feel very familiar... like I have smelled something similar before, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

I'm not in love with it, but it certainly wasn't a scrubber by any means. It's something I'd wear if I simply wanted to smell nice, but wasn't looking to immerse myself in a particular mood. So, I may use the remainder of my sample on occasion, just to see what happens in different temperatures, but I don't feel compelled to make a purchase.

miriamcarothers

This is dreamy. Odd there aren’t more reviews for it!
It kinda remixes all the basic bitch hits into a greatest hits smoove jam.

jsbalsam

OMG!!! I have waited for this fragrance all of my life (I'm 76). Yup. That's a long time. Many years of trying many more fragrances than the number of years that I have lived. It DOES it for me. It gives me "the big one" I've waited for. Accidentally tried it at Macy's. Saw the bottle and decided it was worth a spritz. And, for the size, it's a great price at $105 retail. Applied for HSN credit card and got $40 off first purchase. Guess what I bought? Yowza!!!

Spencemonster

Well I will be damned.
This blew me away. I talked so much crap about this before smelling it. I figured. Oh a woody stinky mesh of notes. No thanks! Not to mention. awful bottle.

Now. In person okay. Bottle isn’t any MORE awful. It is less awful yes. Still. Corny and a bit tacky. However it’s cuter in person and a bit. Chic. So I let it slide. The box and overall presentation though is A+ they really did put thought and $ into it. The bottle as well. Feels expensive.

Now. This scent?! Woah! This shook me.
Beautiful floral woody scent. I’m not normally into woody scents. Ever. But wow! This has enough magnolia, lychee, peach, and fresh fruits mixed with vanilla and amber woods to just really get your nose and mood going DAMN!!! This smells fkn GOOD! Like you wanna go FK! It’s a sexy ass scent! Is it better than sex? Absolutely not. But wearing this while having sex would be hot as hell! This with body heat and chemistry mix would be damn amazing!

Really really impressed! 😮💨👍🏽

I was so excited to try this perfume, but no shops around me had a tester so I just blind bought it based on the notes. It smells familiar. Hmmm… VERY familiar. It’s almost as if I already have this perfume… actually, I do! It smells like a more patchouli laden “London New Bond St. No.111” aka London by Victoria’s Secret! Save yourself the money and just buy that instead as it’s a superior fragrance minus the strong AF patchouli note and that one actually LASTS ALL DAY! Better Than Sex is a good fragrance, but I’m going to just sell my bottle and buy a backup of London since although it’s been discontinued for years, it’s a much better value.

MissGirly87

I love this scent - I think it's awesome. Everything else that people are comparing it to in the "This perfume reminds me of" section, I disagree with - I have smelled all those fragrances, and I don't think any of them are quite like this.
My favorite thing about this fragrance is just how fun it is. It's nothing serious, it's a fragrance that I feel would be an extension of Jerrod Blandino's over-the-top, pink-pink-pink, ultra-femme and girly type of personality. There's a ton of passionfruit, litchi, and citrus in the beginning - but most of all passionfruit.
As the perfume continues there's a lovely deep rose note that is aired out by the jasmine and magnolia, so that it's not too "rosy." And it gets to the base note quickly, with the woods and especially patchouli being very dominant, and lending the scent an ever so slight incense vibe; yet I wear it during the day all the time at this time of year, when it's sunny out, yet still chilly from winter.
It doesn't particularly last long - I do three or four sprays and smell it only very faintly on me after 6 hours - but I have been complimented on it before. One of my students was given a rose this past Valentine's Day, and said to me "Miss, this smells like you!" So there you have it, from the mouth of a kid, lol.

GooseWithAGrudge

I drove thirty miles to smell this at an Ulta that had it in stock, and I was just… disappointed. I don’t know where the alleged fruit and flowers were supposed to be, because all I got was the cedariest cedar to ever cedar and synthetic amber, and some patchouli in the dry down. Despite its packaging and the general aesthetic of the Too Faced cosmetic brand, I actually found this to be very unisex, because literally all I could smell was the cedar. Silage is moderate, lasting power was about five hours.

Perfumedsecrets

I don’t get any YSL Baby Doll in this, and I still have a bottle of BD. This stuff is harsh. I just smell a very musky floral.

JackieM

Not really what I was expecting from this kind of mess of a bottle design/ name lol. I'm not sure the trend of frank sexual reference in makeup color names translates all that well to perfume names without landing like a sledgehammer made of cheese. Scent is already made of entirely instinct, it never serves any practical purpose (like some makeup color does), and so is largely getting to the already imaginative customer anyway. No need to spell stuff out.

At first some kind of fruity European pastry (not a cupcake or cotton candy or the straightforward sugar scent), then eventually kind of sharp and retro from the patchouli, like a brief shadow of an 80's hairspray scent with a bit of a unisex vibe. Beginning and ending are drastically different, but take no more than 2 hours to transition. I was actually thinking, what is that I am smelling, who is wearing that perfume?? Before I realized, oh that's me! ha! The patchouli def is what makes the biggest impression here, though it sneaks up on you. But after 3 to 4 I couldn't smell anything at all.

Not_a_perfume_junkie

To me it's a generic crowd pleaser. Nothing interesting or avant garde about it. But that's pretty much the brand , isn't it? I'm not sure what I expected . I kinda feel it's an overpriced cash grab.

Joshhiggins32

This is a nice scent, I wouldn’t say it’s the best or I love it by any means. The fruits in here are so nice but the amount of patchouli almost ruins it. The patchouli adds this powdery smell that makes this age in composition when the notes without it aren’t young or immature. If they’d take that note away or just tone it down some this could be beautiful! Gonna give it more time and maybe it’ll grow on me but it’s not a hate, it’s just a ok scent. If you like strong patchouli scents then this will be up your alley. The passion fruit smells so fresh but the powdery quality this has completely ruins the chance it has to make this a stand out! So sad! The performance is very nice for the price and works well for any occasion. Just a few things that bother me some but not a deal breaker.

Edit: So I’ve worn this all day and I will say this isn’t for me. This is so powdery in the dry down that it makes this unpleasant to smell. The passion fruit note in here is SO nice but that powder that comes through is a deal breaker for me. This has an audience but I’ve had a few others smell it and they have the same reaction I do. It’s like a sweet passion fruit mixed with sour citrus and a thick powdery smell. If that sounds like something you’d like, the performance is great!

FlowerPetalPunk

This one is definitely a crowd pleaser. Its not too unique in terms of scent but it's really nice. The fruits, and florals are really well blended, and give it a playful femininity. While the base is very active in the background giving it some warmth, depth and "grown-up ness" It is a little bit of a fruitchouli, but I gotta say overall Im very impressed.

Ill update this, as I play with it more, but I genuinely enjoy this one and its gorgeous bottle.

So I finally have sprayed this perfume, and oh my 😮😍🔥❤️ I am in shock to say the least. This Perfume is grown up AF, excuse the language. I haven't been more shocked by a perfume release this year than this one for sure. Invite Only Kayali is the 2nd perfume I am impressed with of 2021. But Better Than Sex takes the 👑 for sure Jerrod knew what he wanted with this perfume. This Perfume leaves me speechless. For the people on Fragrantica thinking this was a Bombshell alike, you are way wrong for that one. Better Than Sex is on a league of it's own. Just the right amount of everything. I smell the patchouli and amber mmmm so damn sexy. This is everything I want in a perfume. If you can handle patchouli and slight citrus than this is for you. More night time imo. And now I see why this was $105. Well worth the price and even worth more than the Fenty Perfume release. I knew when this was announced back in late Summer that this was something to be excited about. I checked the Too Faced website at least once a day for 4 straight months to get this perfume, that's how bad I wanted this perfume. I think I said enough now. 🎤

Wait. How are y’all voting already? It was just released like 17 seconds ago

I'm interested in trying this, but I can already hear old ladies jokingly asking "is it?" when I tell them it's "better than sex." How am I supposed to respond to that...Yes? No? I dunno you tell me? Judging by the notes this looks like it will be less "sexy" and more like an innocent ambrosia fruit salad. I can already see 15 year olds who shop at Aeropostale wearing this and feeling very grown up because of the name, while ironically wearing a very young, peppy, and innocent scent. We shall see about this one...

Blueangel51

Uggh! Damn Patchouli again. Please lay off that note! Pass…….

I<3Perfume

Why are people voting. It doesn't launch till more than a month from now.

COSMICSCENTS

I am loving the bottle, their products are very good so I am excited for this one.

Aramis64

I have that with food sometimes, 'It's better than sex' 😅😅 I love the name, but it is a horrible bottle in my opinion...
