New Girl star Zooey Deschanel has revealed she'd be down for a reboot of the hit series.

Despite the show ending five years ago, the actress has now shared that she'd be more than happy to reprise her role under the right circumstances.

"I definitely had a wonderful time and would be very happy to revisit [the show]," Zooey told The Wall Street Journal.

"It kind of depends on the circumstance," she added. "I wouldn't want to spend the rest of my life doing reboots."

The sitcom, which saw Deschanel play the lead role of Jessica "Jess" Day, first premiered in 2011 and spent seven years on air before its finale in May 2018.

The series also starred Jake Johnson as Nick, Max Greenfield as Schmidt and Lamorne Morris as Winston, Jess's roommates. Hannah Simone starred as Cece, Jess's best friend, and Damon Wayans Jr as Coach, an original roommate who comes back to the loft a few years later.

Despite the actors playing close friends on the series, Johnson revealed previously that the cast didn't hang out that much outside of the show.

"I've never hung out with Max Greenfield or Lamorne Morris outside of work," he told the podcast Life Is Short with Justin Long back in 2020.

"The only time Max, Lamorne and I have ever gone out to eat is we were doing some photoshoot and we all went and got a bite to eat, and it was a mistake because another table of people saw the cast of New Girl doing bits with each other."

Johnson will next be seen in the film Self Reliance, which he also wrote and directed. He stars as Tommy, a man who has been invited to play a game and win 1 million dollars. The only catch is that he must avoid the hunters that are out to kill him.

As for Deschanel, since January 2022, she's been hosting the New Girl recap podcast Welcome to Our Show alongside her former co-stars Lamorne Morris and Hannah Simone.
