Acting royalty Joanna Lumley has opened up about her gripping new Netflix series, Fool Me Once.

Based on the 2016 Harlan Coben novel of the same name, Lumley is set to star alongside Our Girl actor Michelle Keegan and Obsession actor Richard Armitage in the upcoming drama.

On The One Show, Lumley teased that this Coben adaptation, which follows the success of The Stranger and Stay Close, is packed with twists and turns that will keep the audience guessing right until the very last scene.

"Listen, it is so gripping I can't tell you," Lumley began, "Harlan Coben has this extraordinary way of just keeping you on the hook, a page-turner, except of course, we're going to be watching.

"Each time you [watch a scene, you] go 'It must be them', 'Oh my god', 'What's that', up literally, virtually up until the last scene you have no idea what's going to happen."

She also praised her co-star Keegan, as she continued: "It's thrilling, I mean I play a part in it; Michelle carries the whole thing.

"She carries the whole show on her shoulders, she is brilliant, and we have some other wonderful actors.

"It's just been wonderful to do, we have been filming since February, and it goes on filming to early August, [then] packaged up ready for New Year's Eve when out it comes."

Although Lumley revealed that the show would be released later this year, Netflix have not officially confirmed when it will debut on the platform.

Her mourning quickly spirals into confusion when she witnesses a man resembling her late partner enters her home.

Fool Me Once is currently in production and will stream on Netflix.
