Emma Watson rose to fame as  Harry Potter 's studious and high-achieving Hermione Granger.

You could imagine someone getting a bit frustrated at being identified with a character they played as a child, but the thing is, Emma and Hermione have a lot in common.

To celebrate Emma Watson's 26th birthday, here are six times she did exactly what Hermione would have done:

1. She took time out to focus on her studies

Emma knows that education comes first. Sound like anyone else we know? Acting, modelling, and general celebritising had to wait while Emma attended Brown University in the States and Oxford in the UK.

Big. Old. Brain.

2. She became a UN ambassador

Two serious young women with serious plans for making the world a better place for women/house elves. Luckily, only the fictional one had to deal with evil immortal wizards too.

3. She took a stand for gender equality

...and her HeForShe campaign isn't afraid to work with men to make it happen.

Just try to tell Hermione that boys are better than girls. Go on – we dare you.

4. She set up a feminist book club

Books and feminism. What's more Hermione than that?

5. She became the most successful in her class

Ron and Harry were chancers at best, and losers at worst – it was Hermione who took full advantage of her awesome powers. Likewise Emma, who is the highest grossing actor out of her Harry Potter classmates.

6. She works too hard

Ok, so it's just a rumour that she split with boyfriend Matthew Janney because she had too much work to do. But isn't that just like Hermione to put her duties first?
