Fun in the sun! Leelee Sobieski splashes around in daring cut-out swimsuit during a St. Barts beach getaway with her family

It seems real winter weather is finally headed for New York City.

And Leelee Sobieski, 32, and fashion designer husband Adam Kimmel apparently decided it was the perfect time for a tropical holiday, as they were spotted enjoying the beach in St. Barts on Thursday.

The couple brought along their son Martin Kimmel for a day of fun and sun on the celebrity-friendly island.

It looked as though Leelee was a bit more committed to the water sports than her family however, as the Deep Impact star was the only one in a swimsuit.

Leelee flaunted her enviably slim figure in a creative black on piece with three straps across the back, and flowing cut outs on the sides of the torso.

The plunging neckline of the halter top shadowed the curve of her delicate gold necklace.

Obviously the Eyes Wide Shut actress was enjoying the warm waters, as her brunette tresses were visibly wet after an apparent dip.

After some frolicking, Leelee made her way farther up the sand to say hello to husband Adam and son Martin, 2.

For a fashion maven, Adam's attire didn't seem to be especially beach-worthy.

The designer opted for a thick, grey collared shirt, some Persol shades and a black ball cap.

Most conspicuously, he opted for pants, which he rolled up to keep the sand at bay.

Daughter Louisanna Ray was not on hand for the family outing.

First gaining fame for her role in Deep Impact in 1998, Leelee went on to a strong career, particularly on television.

She was nominated for both an Emmy and a Golden Globe for her 1999 leading role in the TV film, Joan Of Arc.

Just two years later, Leelee scored another Golden Globe nomination for her work in another television movie, Uprising.

Leelee's film work has lessened, and although she was set to co-star in the comedy The Last Film Festival, a formal release for the film hasn't been announced.
