And Helena Christensen wowed as she posed for a swimsuit photoshoot in Malibu  on Thursday.

The 55-year-old Vogue coverstar looked toned  in a black one-piece swimsuit as she strolled around the sandy shores. 

To keep warm between shots, the Danish beauty wrapped herself in a fluffy white dressing gown.

She stopped a few times during the shoot to take some selfies on an iPhone - presumably to post on social media.

Helena previously shared a slew of stunning snaps to mark her 55th birthday on Christmas Day.

The supermodel took to Instagram to reveal she took part in her annual tradition of taking a birthday dip in a freezing cold lake.

Stripping down to a plunging leopard print swimsuit, Helena put her toned figure and enviably long legs on display.

Revealing where she gets her youthful looks from, Helena also shared a snap of her mother Elsa in a swimsuit as she got in on the action.

After her energetic morning, she spent the rest of the day celebrating with family, sharing snaps as she enjoyed birthday cake and her mother's homecooked chilli.

Vogue cover girl Helena rose to prominence in the late eighties, becoming one of the most popular models of her time.

Her starring role in the music video for Chris Isaak's hit song Wicked Game, which went on to make the top 10 of MTV's Sexiest Video of All-Time list, elevated her name and gained her recognition with fans all across the world.

After gracing the covers of top fashion magazines for more than three decades, Helena has become an accomplished photographer herself, whose work has appeared in Elle, Marie Claire, and Nylon.

Helena dated several high-profile people, including The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus from 1998 to 2003. They have a son, Mingus Reedus, who's now 24.

She was also romantically linked to late INXS singer Michael Hutchence from 1991 to 1995.

Alongside her work, Helena is currently an ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

The mother-of-one has made two trips to Colombia on behalf of UNHCR in Vogue, the first being in 2015. 

After her returned from her second trip in September, Helena wrote a piece in Vogue about her experiences.

She wrote: 'Last month, when UNHCR asked me to return to Colombia, I immediately agreed.

'Since I was on Colombian soil for the first time, more than 2.4 million refugees from Venezuela have arrived.

'I invite you to show support and solidarity...for all the people who have been forcibly displaced in the world.'
