Dacia Logan MCV:
It is a low car, but it is not undervalued: by the way, costumers appreciated Dacia Logan, and even Renault now emphasizes it, by suggesting new versions and liveries. After versatile concept car Steppe, it is now the time for a station wagon. This new version has been called Dacia Logan MCV, designed to offer still more space and versatility in comparison with the sedan version.

Clever solutions
Firstly a bigger space: to obtain it, the car has a visible longer bodywork and a square shape, almost Reanault Kangoo-like. This new structure allows a better use of volumes, so it is possible to create a comfortable interior and a capacious baggage from 700 to 2.350 litres. Dacia Logan MCV inherits from concept Steppe the two-shutters rear door, useful to carry voluminous objects.
On the contrary if you decide to use the 7 place version, baggage space decreases until 200 litres.

Coherence
Design is sober, simple and well balanced. The front inherited from sedan is combined with a squared rear, obtaining quite a full-bodied and compact whole structure. The same feeling is also in the inside: every detailing in the Dacia Logan was thought to be functional, tough and low cost.
The underbody is equipped with new protections, and the gear box as well.

Reliability
As far as engine is concerned, Reanult chose three fuel units, a 1.4 MPI, a 1.6 MPI and a 1.6 16V, 75, which develop respectively 90 and 105 hp, while the 4 cylinders 1.5-litres dCi unit powers 70 hp.
As the sedan, they are quite brilliant and low-cost engines, perfect for a low cost vehicle.

When?
Dacia Logan MCV will be soon followed by a commercial version, clearly designed for everybody who uses the car during his job. The rear seat will be substituted with a wide baggage space, useful for all craftsmen or professionals' demands.

How much?
We can not say for sure which will be Dacia Logan's price, but we are certain that the new station wagon version won't let buyers down. By the way, price will be competitive, good for a simply structured, safe, tough and versatile car.

Elektronische Bremskraft Verteilung (EBV)
dynamically adjusts the hydraulic pressure supplied to the rear wheels during braking. Compared to more conventional methods, e.g. a fixed ratio valve, it thus enhances braking effectiveness by allowing the rear brakes to supply a greater proportion of the braking effort without a loss of vehicle stability. During braking, EBP senses if both rear wheels are tending to lock in equal amounts by comparing the sensed wheel speeds on the rear and front wheels, and limits or reduces the brake pressure to the rear wheels. This ensures proper brake proportioning for differing vehicle loads and maneuvering conditions. It also promotes increased brake pad life. The controller is a MK20e instead of the normal MK20 and also requires different, more sensitive DC wheel speed sensors.

I was cleaning My logan today and found 4 small dents in the bonnet
after wracking my Brains i have come to the conclusion that a cat has jumped onto the bonnet from my mothers garden shed while on Holiday in the uk

Does anybody know what is exactly date of release MCV in other countries in Europe (Croatia, Bosnia, Germany, Italia, ....)?

I think it's on end of January 2007. Is that correct?

In Spain it´s January. I tend to believe that in Eastern Europe it might be earlier.

I hope so...

i ment that it is a cheap car so one should not expect much from it. it does the job but it's not a "great car".I think it's just a fair one. You don't get more than you pay for it

Maybe you will stop being so excited when your dealer will tell you that your car is here but is missing some components that can be added later, like let's say ......longitudinal roof bars.

You get what you pay for ! Nothing more and nothing less

Thanks Stu ! First impression is very positive, it seems to me a great price. I don't know if they'll keep it in Spain ( cars in Spain are NEVER cheaper than in Germany, although Germans earn almost twice as much as we do ). As a first comparison basis, the 1.6 MPI Laureate sedan costs 9600 € in Spain, 1.4 Laureate 9100 € and 1.4 Ambiance some 8200 €, so I think that 9050 € for the MCV 1.6 is a great price

MCV is going to sell in all countries of Europe from March 2007...
I've read it in Auto BLIC magazine (Croatian)....
