Hi All Logan owners,

I bought a Logan on the 24 aug-06, after been reading SO much good about this car.
Sadly it seems that I have gotten a monday unit.

The day after I bought it, the lamp in my controll board starts to light yellow.
"Lamnda Sonde" after reading in the manuel, then i should stop and contact the shop, which I did.

They asked me to come by,which I did.

They then say they think it is the sonde itself and they would exchange it on the tuesday, so they did, and the lamp was still on.

So they now think it is the wires that are broken.

Have any had similar problems, and does anybody have an idea what to do.
I will now on friday again go back with my new car and they will try to find the fault. In all of this, they say it is NO problems to drive, although it says in the manual that one should NOT drive it can lead to mechanical problems.

Hope that someone have any ideas so i can forward that to the autoshop before friday.

With kind LOGAN reagards

Michael

Hi!,

Please specify which kind of engine do you have. If it is a Diesel, the EGR valve could be the problem. They have to check the catalyser, too.

The best is to specify the car's data into the signature.

Good Luck

Welcome Michael!

I know somebody who have experienced a problem like yours. But the car was a Megane 2, 1.6i 16v. The problem occured due to the poor quality of gasoline.

Tell them to give you a written answer to your problem in wich they must say that your car is o.k. and you may drive it without worries.
It is a very high chance that Marty is right, the problem is the gasoline, that problem is very rare, ant it ussually dissapear by itself after you refuel.

Really, it may be gasoline?
Does it start to lights before you refuel the tank or from the first time you start your engine?

Hi, It is a 1.4 MPI engine. And they found the fault, it was in the starter, some "pinns" where not correctly put in.
But I am now waiting for the "werkmeister" to send me a piece of paper that
says that they exchanged the sonde and that they are taking ALL responsebillity for future mechanical problems coming up in the future that can come from a malfunctioning lamnda sonde.

But I must say Im impressed by the answers I got here.

Thx to all of you.

I am in your debt.

Kind regards

Michael

I think that the excuse about poor quality fuel is a lot of bull that the services like to use a lot.

I have a friend that they wanted to convince that his diesel Corsa would not start at all after doing cca 100 km in total because of bad quality diesel fuel.

In the end it was a defective fuel pump.

What kind of a car would that be if it broke down because of bad quality fuel after a day? And why are they selling the car if it can not run on the fuel that is sold locally?

I heard that excuse quite often for modern diesel engines, but I think that in 80% of the cases it's just a handy explanation.

Anyway, the important thing is that they fixed the fault.

I have had my Logan now for 7 months i bought it in Germany by a Renault handler in a Town called Birkenfeld very near pforzheim
When i recieved my car it had scratches on the Metalic paint and funny marks on the roof .The sales rep promised to book me in and get the scratches out by giving it a good polish ......I am still waiting and today I went to them and I now go into the workshop for polishing on Saturday ...(not bad 7 months wait) radmasa.gif
The best is they sold me the car as a Euro 4 motor and it has a Euro 3
So now I am trying to get something back off them..I was thinking along the lines of a set of winter tyres blush.gif

Something good smile.gif :

It is better to have car polished after 7 months.

Considering "cheating of buyers" with euro3-4 motors, they know that they can be sued, so I think you have good chance to get a set of tyres biggrin.gif
