More experienced users of this forum will correct me if I am wrong, but it looks like some bad contact (maybe in the fuse box?) for power of the board computer (or electronic module that OBD computer is part of).

Maybe you should start with checking contacts in fuse box (re-insert each of them, just in case) and check other connectors that you may reach on the other side (above clutch pedal) of the fuse box. Altough I don't know if your problem is related with this - it can't hurt to check all those connectors and to see if they are properly connected (you should hear "click" when properly connected). My friend had some "strange" ignition problem that was, at the end, caused by connector being properly connected (it was in place, but it wasn't "locked" - he pushed it another 0.5 - 1 mm and after "click" was heard - problem was gone!)

The reset of the trip computer is a known (and old) problem, without any solution. The reset is random, but in some cases is linked with the usage of headlights, audio unit, lighter, and so on...
Renault does not have another solution than to change the instruments panel (that contains the trip computer), but the problem remains (it will happen again, even with the new panel). If you want to try, go to the service...

Well in the cars owner manual it says that the onboard computer automaticly resets when one of it's memory units is filled up.

Try to avoid turning ON and quickly OFF the ignition switch.

On the bright side, it happened to me only once when I just bought the car, and never again since. So the problem might not be so annoying.

Friend of mine just experienced following thing: when he started his Logan (1.4 MPI, Ambiance) in the morning, engine started without any problem - but it was "shaking" a lot, and sound produced was like in those old diesel engines when they are not warmed-up.

After he made some 100 meters on the parking lot - everythig was back in normal.

Same day he noticed that his trip distance meter was reset by itself probably the day before or so, as it showed only 20 kilometers.

So, question is - could this rough idling of engine and this reset of trip distance meter could be somehow connected? That some "memory" of the computer was reset, and that computer loaded "default values" - therefore it was shaking like that on the first start in the morning?

And, if yes, I guess that answer is that this problem can not be fixed (yet) ?
