Brunch is not brunch without mimosas. There, I said it. Keep your bacon, hold the pancakes, and get that carton of eggs outta here—all I want on a weekend morning is a flute full of bubbly with a few drops of orange juice in it. A mimosa is magic in breakfast-beverage form, and I refuse to hear otherwise.

Most people may associate mimosas with boozy brunches out on the town, but the gorg orange sipper is also exceptionally easy to make at home. Like, two ingredients easy—pick up a (good) jug OJ and a bottle of bubs, and you're in business, baby. Not sure what qualifies as the "right" bottle of bubbly though? Hi, that's where I come in. In all honesty, any sparkling wine—whether it's Champagne (from the Champagne region of France), prosecco (from Italy), or cava (from Spain)—can be used to make a mimosa, but some certainly work better than others. Lucky for you, I gathered up the best of the best bottles of wine for your drink-making pleasure. Below, you'll find the best budget pick, the best splurge, the best for those who like something fruity, and so much more. There's even a bottle for the girlies who don't drink, because non-alcoholic mimosas deserve some love too.

So, the next time your group chat makes brunch plans, send the girls this link and hightail it over to your local wine store. You're hosting brunch this weekend, and you'll need to stock up on these vinos in advance. (Need some breakfast food inspo while you're at it? Right this way.) How does it feel to be the hostess hero of your friend group?

Perhaps the sparkling wine I associate most with mimosas (maybe because of the orange label?), Mionetto is just tried and true. You can find it practically everywhere, it doesn't hurt your wallet, and I've never met anyone who doesn't like sippin' on it. For all those reasons and more, you might as well stock up.

Good ol’ Veuve: you know it, you love it, and you wanna show it off on your bar cart. The brand’s yellow-label Brut Champagne is a classic for a reason, boasting nutty, bready (yes, experts say it tastes like a toasted brioche), and floral notes that are easy on the palette and go with damn near every dish. It’s also extra-dry with fine bubbles, making it the perfect match for a sweet glass of OJ. If you don’t mind blowing a little extra at the wine shop pre-brunch, this is the bottle to get.

You might know them for their deliciously rich Cabernet Sauvignon, but trust me—you shouldn’t sleep on Josh Cellars’s lighter options. Their prosecco, specifically, is absolute perfection in my eyes: not too sweet, not too dry, and the bottle looks much more expensive than its sticker price. With fruit-forward notes of green apple, pear, and citrus, a little bit of orange juice tastes right at home.

This tasty cava is worth flying to Spain for—but to your wallet’s delight, you don’t have to. You can find a bottle in most American wine stores, despite it hailing from the Rioja region of Spain, which is known for its miles of vineyards. It’s well-balanced and (maybe too easy) to sip, with the perfect level of acidity to cut through a sweet fruit juice for a ~magical mimosa moment~. Plus, look at that price tag!

Okay, so maybe sparkling rosé isn’t the most traditional wine to put in a mimosa, but if you’ve ever had a pink mimosa, you know they deserve to have their own place in the sun. I mean, they’re tinted pink, and that is reason enough to make one, but a good sparkling rosé—like this one from celeb-loved wine brand Santa Margherita—can also give your flute some full-bodied flavor that a regular sparkling wine typically lacks. My advice? Swap the OJ for raspberry or strawberry lemonade for a sweet ‘n’ fruity treat.

The McBride Sisters Wine Company is one of my favorite wineries of all time. The reason? They simply never miss. Their sparkling brut might just be one of their best bottles, though, especially if, like me, you love all things fruity but not too, too sweet. Pop a bottle and prepare to taste notes of ripe pear, crisp apple, and white peach. It's like a liquid fruit salad, if you ask me.

If you’re going to ball out, you might as well do it with a bottle of Bollinger. Their classic Special Cuvée is exactly how it sounds…special. Its golden color looks like sunshine in a glass, and it pretty much tastes how I expect sunshine to taste, complete with fine bubbles and notes of ripe fruit and fresh walnut. If you end up skipping the OJ and just taking this liquid gold to the face, I won’t blame you.

If you need a gift for someone that knows their bubby, a nice shiny bottle of GH Mumm’s Grand Cordon never fails. (And honestly, I don’t think there’s anyone who wouldn’t appreciate it.) Made with Pinot Noir grapes, the flavor is rich and bold. but each sip is as light and bubbly as you'd expect in a high-quality champagne. It’s pretty much the ultimate hostess gift when you’re heading to a friend’s place for a schmancy brunch.

Sometimes you wanna crush some ‘mosas in the morning but don’t wanna feel like human garbage for the rest of the day. And that is more than respectable. This non-alcoholic sparkling white wine lets you have the best of both worlds, Miley Stewart style, with a bottle that looks, tastes, and feels like bubbly, but is actually ABV-free. And trust me, it actually does taste like the good stuff—it’s produced by French winery Domaines Pierre Chavin using all the traditional methods before being de-alcoholized.
