About this app

The official Mensa IQ Test is now available! The worldwide organisation for people with an IQ in the top two percent invites you to find out what your indicator IQ is.

What are Mensa's three stated purposes?
-to identify and foster human intelligence for the benefit of humanity;
-to encourage research into the nature, characteristics, and uses of intelligence;
-to provide a stimulating intellectual and social environment for its members.

What were Mensa's original aims?
Mensa's original aims were, as they are today, to create a society that is non-political and free from all racial or religious distinctions. "Mensa" means "table" in Latin, and the organisation was so named because Mensa is a round-table society where race, color, creed, national origin, age, politics, educational and social background are all completely irrelevant. Mensa takes no stand on politics, religion or social issues, and it has members from so many different countries and cultures, each with differing points of view; so, for Mensa to espouse a particular point of view would go against its role as a forum for ALL points of view.

Every single question is either a rotation puzzle, an arithmetic progression puzzle, a translation puzzle, a row permutation puzzle, or some combination of the aforementioned. While the stated maximum score is 126, in reality, anybody with a true matrix reasoning IQ score of 115-120 could get it. The app is only of any use for those looking to get a glimpse into what real IQ tests are like - not to get an accurate assessment of their intelligence.

Seems to be fairly aligned with the standardized Mensa tests, which are independent of language. 24 questions in 10min so fairly tight time limit. The difficulty is not that high though, so easy enough to get all correct = score of 126 which they say is the max for the app.

It was a fun temporary distraction but this this definitely can't be a proper sample of an IQ test because that was astonishingly too easy for me. I'm not THAT smart. It's just rotation, addition, subtraction and pattern recognition.
