Who Is Michael Sheen's Girlfriend? All About Anna Lundberg

Through the years, Welsh actor Michael Sheen has been linked to a number of high-profile actresses. After dating Kate Beckinsale, Sarah Silverman and Rachel McAdams, the Frost/Nixon star began a long-term relationship with Anna Lundberg.

Sheen and Lundberg made their first public appearance in May 2019 at the New York City screening of the BBC and Amazon Studios miniseries Good Omens. "So, so, so proud of this angelic face," Lundberg captioned an Instagram photo of the pair on the red carpet, confirming their relationship.

Just over two years later, Sheen announced the couple had a child on the way.

“Very happy to let everyone know that my partner Anna and I are expecting a little angel of our own,” he wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

The couple, who share two children and live in Wales, starred together in a BBC comedy series in 2020 and juggle parenting duties with a busy acting schedule.

She’s an actress

Like Sheen, Lundberg has been acting for years. According to her website, she completed a three-year theater program in Sweden before moving to the U.K. to train at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and the Guildford School of Acting.

Lundberg also studied in N.Y.C. at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and joined the New York Academy Company after graduation. She has since starred in the TV series The Sandman and the film Last Train to Christmas.

They have two children

In July 2019, Sheen shared that the couple were expecting their first child together. On September 23, Lundberg gave birth to their daughter Lyra Sheen.

“On behalf of Anna and myself thanks to everyone for your lovely messages of congratulations. It’s been a wonderful, bleary-eyed week full of love and kindness and extraordinary poo. #NotReferringToMyself,” Sheen wrote.

On Instagram, Lundberg added, “Last week, on a sunny Monday morning in Wales, I gave birth to our beautiful baby daughter Lyra. It was, without a doubt, the most incredible experience of my life. My heart is full.”

On May 19, 2022, the couple welcomed their second daughter, Mabli Sheen. “And just like that ... there was another monkey jumping on the bed,” Lundberg shared on Instagram alongside a picture of the newborn’s hand wrapped around her finger.

Sheen also co-parents daughter Lily Sheen with his ex-girlfriend Beckinsale.

She grew up in Sweden

Lundberg grew up in Helsingborg, Sweden, a southern coastal town near Denmark. The couple now live in Baglan, Wales, close to where Sheen grew up.

Despite having moved away from Sweden, Lundberg often proudly shares her heritage on Instagram, including posts about fika coffee traditions and her hometown.

She was “happy and proud” of her body changing during pregnancy

In 2019, Lundberg posted a candid caption on Instagram, sharing how pregnancy had changed her.

“My body is making massive changes, which takes some getting used to - but I'm as HAPPY and PROUD of all of them as I could be!” she wrote.

“This beautiful bump is growing bigger every day and it thrills me every time I feel an internal somersault, kick or tap," Lundberg explained. "I'm more womanly grounded than ever (is that a thing? It is now.) And so unbelievably proud of what my body is currently doing.”

They both starred in the comedy series Staged

In 2020, Sheen and Lundberg acted together in Staged, a BBC comedy series filmed from their home during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. The series also starred David Tennant and his wife Georgia.

The couples played fictionalized versions of themselves and filmed in their real-life homes, so it involved some creative juggling of parenting and work on the actors’ parts.

Sheen told the Radio Times that they typically filmed at night after their kids went to sleep. “There tends to be alcohol involved,” he added. “So [the scenes are] a bit … looser.”

They took advantage of their quality time at home during the COVID-19 lockdown

With the time-consuming work of an actor, spending quality time together was not always easy, so the couple welcomed the chance to “connect together as a family” during lockdown.

“The luxury of Michael just being at home has really been amazing and Lyra has certainly loved it,” Lundberg told the Radio Times. “And that routine has kept us sane.”

“We’re very fortunate to be able to say this, but the arrival of the baby has had a bigger impact than the coronavirus on our lives,” Sheen added. “We’ve got a garden and the weather was good in the spring and summer in Wales, so for us, it has all been rather lovely.”

She helped Sheen through a “scary” case of COVID-19

In early 2021, Sheen, Lundberg and their daughter Lyra, who was just 17 months old at the time, tested positive for COVID-19.

"Yes, we've all been dealing with THE virus the last few weeks," Lundberg wrote on Instagram. "It's been very challenging for all of us but luckily we're all much better now than we were. Thankfully I was lucky to only have relatively mild symptoms, which meant that I could keep focusing on Lyra and Michael."

Sheen echoed the sentiment, sharing on X that his illness had proved “very difficult and quite scary.” He also thanked Lundberg for her support as he recovered.

They support charitable causes

The couple took part in the 2021 celebrity special of the popular Channel 4 show Gogglebox alongside Graham Norton and Aisling Bea.

The group raised money for the charity Cancer Research U.K. and the Stand Up to Cancer campaign.

"Supporting a brilliant cause like Stand Up to Cancer means such a lot to us both,” they told Channel 4 in a statement.

She says Sheen is an “incredible” father

On their first Father’s Day as a family of three in June 2020, Lundberg paid tribute to her “incredible” partner with an Instagram photo of Sheen with their daughter Lyra.
