Okay this may or may not come as a shock to you, but I love Anna Olson’s first show, Sugar. It was a wonderful Food Network show all about baking. That’s it, just baking. Each episode had a particular theme (like lemons or maple syrup) and would start out with one mouth-watering recipe, head into the second, then go back and do a ‘switch-up’ on the first recipe to transform it. Anna Olson’s presentation was always clear, informative and endearing – especially with her use of the word, ‘ooof‘ which she uses a lot when something’s especially delicious!
Well I loved the show, Olson, and I also LOVED the set. Designed by House & Home alum Gordon Runge, it’s classic good looks are something I just still can’t get enough of – the creamy white background, marble baking surfaces, white subway tiles and open shelves. There’s a great industrial fridge and some mod cream club chairs to set things off. I especially love all of the vintage baking implements like creamware, milk glass and depression glass. There are always fresh flowers and yummy desserts and basically it’s just heaven.
It’s on in reruns now on Food Network and I just can’t get enough! Just ask our PVR if you don’t believe me…
I loved the set! It was like Martha
Stewart on ecstasy.
This is my new dream kitchen. I especially love mixing antique creamware with modern appliances. Thanks for posting!
